Why isn't Paul Drake sexy?

He's tall, well-built, suave, blond, and blandly handsome.

Even Perry Mason is sexier.

Paul Drake (William Hopper) started life as a dirty blond, but his hair was White by the time he got to TV's Perry Mason. He was tall but not particularly well built for the time period. He had an average build.

In the original novels, the character of Paul Drake is described as: "tall and slouching, nondescript, and frequently wearing an expression of droll humor." The actor in the series matched that description in that he just wasn't very physically appealing.

Perry Mason on the other hand, may have been a little on the hefty side (fit fat) but he was very attractive with broad shoulders, dark brooding eyes with long curly eyelashes, a nice head of thick gorgeous black hair, a nice smile and a very charming and endearing voice.

Thanks, r1. Would still rather suck off Paul Drake. Looks like he would have a long and smooth one.

Della was the hottest of the trio, but her charms did not entice me.

Thanks r4 for convincing me that Bill Hopper was pretty yummy.

He always looked so old, even in black and white photos and films. But he couldn't have been too old since he dies at 55!
