The Film Masterpiece "The Wind And The Lion" Starring Sean Connery, Candice Bergen and Brian Keith.

Bergan is absolutely gorgeous in this film and Connery and Keith are so handsome.

Let's talk about this great film. Shall we?

When the actors begin to talk (which they do incessantly) the flat-footed dialogue and the amateurish acting (especially by the secondary characters) take one back to the low budget buffoonery of Maria Montez and Turhan Bey. -Pauline Kael The New Yorker

Is it camp?

The character played here by Steve Kanaly is based on the very same Marine officer who was also represented by Charleston Heston in 55 Days in Peking.

One of the finest short sequences ever put on film.

many critics described it as jingoistic

I saw the film years ago by mistake. I thought I was going to The Lion in Winter - stupid me. Anyway, The Wind and the Lion was OK but when I did finally see The Lion in Winter - wow.

It was all right. I'd have skipped it if it hadn't had Connery in it.

Even in the worst shit, he's worth watching.
