R9, I have seen plenty of "Chocolate" cake recipes from legitimate sources that use cocoa, the word Devil never mentioned. In fact, if I may offer this observation, the term "Devil's Food" is an archaic term not really used since the early 60's.

A home-made Angee Food Cake is amazing. Melt-in-your-mouth lightness with a hint of almond extract in the deliciously light cake.
