In addition to the West Side Story creative team there were the Jewish songwriters at the Brill Building.

Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Carole King and Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, Morty Shuman wrote some of the most amazing songs of that era. And then there was Marvin Hamlisch and Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Carole Bayer Sager, Leiber & Stoller, Simon & Garfunkel, and later Billy Steinburg, Diane Warren and Greg Kurstin.

Neither have I, r26. But I grew up in a New Jersey neighborhood that was a mix of Irish, Italian, and Jewish. I didn't realized Jews were a minority group until I went away to college (where, of course, most of my friends were Jewish).
