Stephen Sondheim Dead Part ??: The Dennis Christopher Story
I'm the poster who first mentioned it. Sorry, but I've been locked out until now and felt it better to start a new thread ratherthan search for an old one. It's not all that much. Here is what I was told:
Dennis Christopher was Stephen Sondheim's S&M buddy. He tied him up in Sondheim's basement dungeon (part of the foreplay, I guess) and then LEFT HIM THERE. Sondheim had a heart attack.....Christopher's career came to a screeching halt as no gay man in Hollywood would hire him.

Please. Sondheim was a chain smoker. The heart attack was inevitable, with or without Dennis Christopher.

That story has been around almost since the heart attack happened, OP, but it’s usually an anonymous hustler who was tied up and unable to help Sondheim.
Plus, Sondheim’s heart attack was 1977.

Dennis Christopher has worked steadily throughout the years, as you can see on IMDB.
They may not be the choicest of roles, but his career did not end back then or later.
