Teen crush for many young gaylings, back in the day.
He has the leering gaze of a pervert.

Oh honey--those tight white pants.....
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 25, 2021 9:00 PM |
I know they were big, but the only hit I remember was "Indian Reservation", and his solo "Arizona".
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 25, 2021 9:01 PM |
They weren't that big, R4.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 25, 2021 9:12 PM |
R5, yes, actually "Indian Reservation" was a number one song on Billboard.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 25, 2021 9:15 PM |
Mark looks pretty big to me.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 25, 2021 9:55 PM |
My dear OP, he looks like an Elton John wannabe.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 25, 2021 10:00 PM |
R6, Mark Lindsay's group Paul Revere and the Raiders were not one of those big 1960s pop groups you've read about. They had a good cover of Louie Louie, and only a couple of high charted 45s. Arizona and Indian Reservation were Lindsay's SOLO efforts, not the Raiders'.
R9's pic makes me think of Mr Spock before Elton John.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 25, 2021 10:09 PM |
Mark Lindsay recently. If anyone doesn't understand what the "facelift ear" looks like, this is it:
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 25, 2021 10:13 PM |
He must have passed away by now?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 25, 2021 10:16 PM |
You mean DIED, R13? No.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 25, 2021 10:20 PM |
R10, no, you're mistaken. Indian Reservation was not a solo by Mark Lindsay.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 26, 2021 3:28 AM |
R10 is right. Indian Reservation was a solo production by Mark. But the record company ddcided to release it as a Raiders single. Mark has said that decision cost him a lot of money by having to share royalties instead of collecting them all himself.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 26, 2021 3:32 AM |
I can't find any more pictures of those tight white pants.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 26, 2021 3:34 AM |
Which billboard, R6? Apache or Navajo?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 26, 2021 3:44 AM |
That leering gaze is essential to his hotness.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 26, 2021 7:40 PM |
When I was 10, I thought Mark Lindsay was the hottest man in the world.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 26, 2021 7:46 PM |
I guess Paul Revere was a little bit jealous, since it was his group.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 26, 2021 7:52 PM |
If Soapy Sam and Ben Sasse had a baby...
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 26, 2021 7:56 PM |
R7. "Kicks" was a big hit. And the group was popular but harmless.
They had their "gimmick" with the Paul Revere outfits. But no one in the '60s had a better voice than Gary Puckett (and The Union Gap):
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 26, 2021 8:11 PM |
They were like the house band for “Where the Action Is”.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 26, 2021 8:33 PM |
[quote] The Union Gap
What does that mean? Is it a military reference?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 26, 2021 8:33 PM |
A better looking Davey Jones
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 26, 2021 8:37 PM |
Gary Puckett had a great voice, but his songs like "Young Girl" and "Lady Willpower" were kind of pervy. Even moreso now when he sings them at his current age.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 26, 2021 9:10 PM |
R25 wikipedia has info on the Battle of Union Gap
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 26, 2021 9:55 PM |
"Indian Reservation" was a hit for the group, not a solo release for Lindsay who didn't leave the group as a single until 1975.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 27, 2021 2:49 AM |
Mark Lindsay is still alive and has been part of an oldies group tour including, yes, Gary Puckett, for awhile.
I follow him on Twitter cuz he's a cat-loving liberal.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 27, 2021 2:55 AM |
Too much plastic surgery including a nose job, R30.

The British are Cuming!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 27, 2021 2:01 PM |
I'm pretty sure in that photo at R9 he's wearing a hair piece.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 27, 2021 2:10 PM |
I loved PRR, but The Dave Clark Five were my favorites. Dave Clark was devoon!!
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 27, 2021 2:13 PM |
But like all of us from those days, time has definitely taken its toll on Dave.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 27, 2021 2:16 PM |
R12 there’s a local morning news anchor who’s probably 45 who had a full facelift about three years ago and he has that. I won’t watch him because he’s always watching himself in the monitor.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 27, 2021 2:20 PM |
It's not time but facelifts that have deformed Dave Clark's face.
I remember seeing a documentary that claimed Clark managed the group's finances and ended up to basically screwing his fellow band members out of a lot of the money due them.
Also, I presumed he was gay because he never married and had no children and was thisclose to Freddie Mercury. (Clark said he was with Mercury when he died.)
Anyway, the DC5 did have a number of good songs.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 27, 2021 2:40 PM |
Yes, R37, he's gay.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 27, 2021 3:17 PM |
I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders in concert at the Oakland Coliseum in the 60s. It was my first concert, I was twelve. I screamed with all the girls. I was in love with all of them (except Paul, nobody had a crush on Paul) but Mark Lindsey was impossibly sexy. I read every teen magazine with an article about him and still remember that he had an undiagnosed stigmatism as a kid and didn't realize his vision was terrible until the day he got glasses and cried in astonishment.
'Kicks' was a HUGE hit back then which in retrospect is surprising since it was anti-drug with lines like "before you find out it's too late, girl you better get straight". It's a good song.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 27, 2021 3:17 PM |
You mean it's a "Good Thing?" Terrible picture, but whwaddyagonnado?

[quote]He has the leering gaze of a pervert.
This from a poster with the rolling gait of a nymphomaniac.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 27, 2021 5:54 PM |
Mark was certainly hot in the day, but he was also a jinx. Two of the houses he rented later became the scenes of infamous murders. The house he rented on Cielo Drive was the later the scene of the Manson murders, and the house he rented on Wonderland Avenue was later the scene of the Wonderland murders involving John Holmes.
The week ending August 2nd, 1969, Paul Revere and The Raiders last hit, "Let Me" would fall to #40 in the singles charts. The week ending August 9th, the song was off the charts and the morning of the 9th Sharon Tate et al would be brutally murdered.

r39 We must be around the same age and lived in the same area. I was born in '52 and grew up in the East Bay.
Was your concert outdoors at the Coliseum or indoors at the arena?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 28, 2021 5:25 PM |
R44 It was inside, so I guess it was the arena. I also saw Cat Stevens at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, and that was it for concerts. I actually hated most rock and roll from the 60s.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 28, 2021 7:30 PM |
[quote] most rock and roll from the 60s.
Aggressive, thumping sound without melody. Lyrics which can't be heard amongst the din.
Suitable for monkeys but not for humans.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 28, 2021 8:02 PM |
Not even good for monkeys.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 29, 2021 4:03 AM |
Paul Revere and the Raiders made some good records. Their songs figure prominently in “once upon a Time in Hollywood.”
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 29, 2021 4:09 AM |
The groupie Pamela Des Barres wrote about Mark Lindsay taking her virginity. Lucky girl!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 29, 2021 1:10 PM |
Should have been shirtless in concert.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 3, 2022 2:25 PM |
I was about 14 when they were big. In retrospect, the coolest thing about them is that my sweet Irish Catholic Mother liked them and thought Mark Lindsay was hot. She liked his pony tail! (maybe this story proves my mother was cool, not the band?)
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 3, 2022 3:48 PM |
Tight pants don't matter if you don't have a butt.

He's an anti-Trumper.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 3, 2022 8:18 PM |
R52 That's incorrectly tagged. That photo is actually of the Raiders bass player Phil "Fang" Volk who had as much if not more teen girl fans than Mark Lindsay did. Phil was easily the hottest guy in the band.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 3, 2022 8:40 PM |
[quote] Phil was easily the hottest guy in the band.
Not so easily. The teen girls I knew loved Drake.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 5, 2022 2:45 PM |
Mark Lindsay then and now. He just turned 80 years old in March.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 5, 2022 2:54 PM |
I always confused Gary Puckett & The Union Gap with Paul Revere and The Raiders. Both had some good songs; Gary had a great voice. AND his songs were fucking sexy. Young Girl? Damm, she knew what she wanted.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 5, 2022 6:02 PM |
I don't think Mark Lindsay belongs in the same sentence with Gary Puckett.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | November 26, 2022 5:14 PM |
The blond looks like Todd Chrisley, r1.
