America is anti-law enforcement. This is a stupid move.

Mel Gibson is no longer charismatic, just old and angry.

The premise of the original movie (or was it LW2) was that Danny Glover was retiring, but he had to stay on for one last case with the young and uncontrollable Mel. It would be easy to shelve Glover and have Mel be the retiring cop, with a new young cop of color in the younger role. Probably not what they'll do, but easy.

65 going on 90. I guess I should applaud the fact that Mel isn't botoxed and filler-ed to death, but he really looks like shit. Guess it's the ravages of drugs, alcohol, and cigs. It's a shame because he was really handsome.

We have to hand him that. When he first went to Hollywood he told the Australian press, "All these old people with tight heads over here. None of them look young, they just look weird." Which is perfectly true, and good on him for remaining true to that perception even as he aged.

Mel, I believe, was one of the most beautiful looking men in the history of cinema.....for about 5 years. Watching the original Lethal Weapon, you can see that - while still a handsome guy - the gorgeousness of his looks in The Bounty or The Year of Living Dangerously has already started to fade. By the mid-90s he was already looking 10 years older than he was. That's what hate, bigotry, drugs and alcohol will do to you!

He was at his most gorgeous from Tim (1978) to The River/Mrs Soffel (1984). He still would have looked good after The River if it wasn't for the silly haircuts and mullets. They don't look good on anybody. Also the films got sillier and that made it hard to take him seriously.
