I honestly can’t wait until all stores and fast food places are automated. It is much easier to deal with computer kiosks and unlike the humans they aren’t stupid.
Service today has gone to shit

"Why do you avoid and not visit us, then??!"

Fat hoes hate human interaction, it's understandable.

It's not service workers, it's the customers who have gone to shit.

A worker actually said, "I'm not here to serve you."
Bitch, that is the name of your entire industry. It is the SERVICE INDUSTRY!

I'm with you OP. I get why they have a bad attitude. Lousy pay, no benefits, no future. I just don't want to bear the brunt of that attitude, I'd rather avoid unnecessary unpleasantness if I can.

It will still suck when it's automated. You think American companies are going to spring for amazing, efficient technology and continually update and maintain it in pristine condition? Do you think Americans are going to demand better? No and no.

R8 I just want McDonald's to go exclusively kiosks. I can make a simple customization with no issue on the kiosk, it takes their cashiers ten min to figure out how to put it in the computer and there is a less than 50% chance they got it right. However, the one near me likes to unplug theirs, on the rare occasion they actually have their dining room open.

OP--You sound like you get treated exactly like you deserve to be treated

It's exhausting fighting with people to perform the tasks they're paid for.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 5, 2021 6:03 AM |
Erratum R11: . . . perform the tasks for which they are paid.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 5, 2021 6:13 AM |
R9 you can make McDonald’s orders via the app just like how you would with a kiosk.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 5, 2021 6:56 AM |
Maybe people would be happier if we paid them 25 an hour.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 5, 2021 7:06 AM |
Bring back the Automat. All the pies you can eat and I don't have to deal with another human.

It's the "Well, I showed up, so you need to reward me" generation. Nothing will make them happy.

Never going to happen.

You cannot complain about Karens AND then complain about bad service in stores.
You can complain about one or the other, but not both or you are a total hypocrite. Karens are the ones who complain about bad service in stores.

If robots have any future of becoming, then the best way to get them materialized is that of becoming an average persons’ SLAVE. YES! I said slave! Sex slave, house cleaner slave, alarm clock/wakeful-upper with toast, coffee and orange juice waiting on the table slave? I’d buy one tomorrow. Even better if he could wake me up by sucking my dick! People will be breaking in and looting these robots today!

There is nothing wrong with service people. It is the entitled attitude of people who think they are there to SERVE you. No. They are there to help you if you need it. People expect Walmart employees to treat them like they are on a private shopping event at Barney's all the while their rat bred children are running amok making my job that much harder because when you leave, gracing us with your twelve dollar purchase I have to go disinfect and clean up after your fucking kids.

Customers/consumers in most industries have become difficult. I work in healthcare and the need to "speak with the manager" has become outrageous. I will support a customer/consumer if they are even slightly correct and find a solution, but lately the issues are so off base they are not just not resolvable. As a customer/consumer myself, I wouldn't have the audacity to complain about the things I hear these days.

And people forget service people like store workers, restaurant etc...they are actually risking their lives due to covid. They must come in contact with hundreds of people a day, at least 20% not vaccinated and I am sure some actually have covid. My Aunt had covid and she decided she had to get something on sale at drug mart. I yelled for an hour. She said why are you so mad? People are fucking selfish.

Sometimes automation is nightmare - like at my local Pavillions grocery store. They have removed half the cashiers and the self check outs are so trigger sensitive that they are always fucking up. If you have produce, forget it.
I agree with you R9. I've been to a fully automated McDonald's in SF and it was wonderfully efficient. I like plain hamburgers, which means meat and bun, which takes a tremendous amount of explaining for some reason and they still manage to fuck it up. With the kiosks, it's easy and quick.

R25 That is mainly my problem, I mean come on if it is so easy on the kiosk why is it so difficult on their registers?
Also, I never have any problem with grocery store self-checkouts where I live, except when I take my mother the commissary on the army base. They are so sensitive you have to wait for help after you scan every item which makes checking out longer than if you had just stood in the regular line.
