I like a simple glazed donut. Or chocolate creme filled donuts-- NOT the chocolate pudding style. The kind of creme that tastes like frosting.
Raspberry filled

A simple glazed is perfection. It also has to very yeasty.

A plain cake doughnut dipped in raspberry jam for each bite. And it should be spelled properly, not phonetically.

I don't think I've ever had a jam or fruit goo-filled donut. I love the pure sugar or chocolately taste too much to sully my mouth with fruit. I learned recently that chocolate icing on donuts tastes so great because they add honey to it, so I've been using a honey-based chocolate icing for my brownies. YUM.

I like a nutmeggy cake donut with cinnamon sugar (not the powdered kind, actually granulated sugar). Or plain.

Good call, r5! Another great donut is Japan's Mister Donuts' Golden Chocolate. It's a mild chocolate cakey donut covered in streusel-like beads. It is so, so good.

R6, you're spelling "cake doughnuts" wrong, no wonder you don't like them.

Apple cider donuts, or a powdered sugar jelly donut, slightly crispy from the fryer. Haven’t had a worthwhile jelly donut in about two decades.
