Simon Baker (The Mentalist): What happened to his face?

A lot of white men age poorly.

He's pale and probaby smokes and drinks. You think that body is fine for a 52 year old? So saggy. Clint Eastwood has a better body. Is this what happens when you took steroids and then stopped? You just deflate? Can't understand the weird sagginess otherwise.

He’s Australian and never wore sunscreen = a lot of intense exposure to the sun. You could see he was overly wrinkled for his age for a long time. The wrinkles looked fine but eventually they lead to this.

No one is exempt from a bad photo. I think part of the problem is that his face is somewhat scrunched up into a squint. Here are a couple of pics from March and April of this year that aren't as harsh.

This thread made me feel better about myself, but all too briefly.

I was a huge fan of The Mentalist and he was only really hot in the first season. By the final season he looked shriveled up. They played down his sexiness/sex appeal on the show, practically neutered him. Owain Yeoman (Rigsby) still looks super hot today and has never looked better.

He just dumped the wife and kids for some younger hottie. He's having a mid-life crisis.

I never watched THE MENTALIST but I was disappointed to see him looking less than his hottest in THE DEVIL WORE PRADA. The bloom was fading even back then.

A lot of Australians have hot athletic bodies (women as well as men) but exposure to the sun means they also age like milk.

Baker also appears to spend less time in the gym than some of his American counterparts.

He was a surfer growing up in Sydney, so that he means he spent A LOT of time in the sun. That's how you really screw up your skin by getting too much sun as a kid.

This trailer makes clear he does look his age. But he is still remarkably handsome.

I also heard that sun exposure in the Southern Hemisphere is worse than that of the Northern Hemisphere because of the hole in the ozone layer.

In any case, he either needs to really limit his time in the sun, or else use tons of moisturizer.

Now after cheating on his accomplished wife, ending their longstanding marriage, and hooking up with a young cliche (filler-faced-looking-grifter), Simon’s aged visage and out-of-shape physique no longer call.

I’m not sure what exactly was going n with his face in “Prada”. His eyebrows looked really odd in that one.

It wasn’t just aging as I saw him after “Prada” and he looked good again.

It's weird he left his wife and kids after so long.I'm in Australia and he was always publicized as the "Down to earth, devoted Dad and family man who is the exception in Hollywood". Kind of like Ewan McGregor who also ran off and started banging some young piece.

I saw him in a couple of plays in the early 90s when he was just starting out. He SUCKED as an actor, but did look great. He's very tall too which is unusual as most TV people tend to be small with big heads. He had great hair as well. Always surprises me that men with lush, thick hair and defined hairlines end up with straggly, thinning mops like the image supplied by [R51],

I think this character was close to who Simon Baker really was with Rebecca, and still is. And he does seem to prefer brunettes.
