Was Betty White ever pretty?

Ever? Have you seen her in the 50s and 60s? Not a knock-out beauty in that sense but cute as can be.

She was cute and kind of sexy. Girl next door, but with a body. Not the glamour type.

But Hollywood beautiful? Never.

Good figure on young Betty.

More like the Mother Next Store. All the mothers on my street looked like this to a kid in 1959.

The hairstyles made them look old. My mom's yearbook is full of girls in their teens that look like 45 year old matrons.

Never found Rue remotely pretty OR sexy. Her GG character always struck me as an aggressively desperate "Pick me!"-type woman.

It's all about attitude, both Betty and Rue played their parts well whether they looked the part or not. It's called acting.

Betty always looked like the mom next door, so Sue Ann Nevins was her big break-out role against type

I agree with all those saying Rue wasn't pretty. She was bug-eyed and weird looking. Betty was definitely the prettiest one on that show (even if she wasn't a great beauty. But she was definitely pretty.).

Rue was homely but she lived a rich and full life so good for her. She also had fabulous timing. Remember when she dated the late Brad Davis? They made love in her backyard one time and disturbed the neighbors or so the story goes. Rue I would have liked to have hung out with.

Betty White had a great figure back in the year one. She really did. It was already made mention of a time or two upthread. She has cute dimples on an otherwise naturally cute face. I wouldn't want to hang out with her, though.

I remember watching some movie about a crocodile with Betty White and it was quite funny when a grandmotherly old Betty says "they can just suck my balls".

I bet in real life, she is more Sue Ann than Rose. I read that her kids won't speak to her.
