Breeders have taking weddings to a new level. If you don't show, or RSVP you get a bill. The couple is pissed that that they prepaid for 2 guests that didn't show. They think it's tacky and rude. You know what else is tacky? Sending a bill. Expecting people to want to come to your tacky wedding.
Bride and groom send $240 bill to ‘no show’ wedding guests.

Do they really think anyone will pay it?

if you don't show up to a medical or spa appointment or even a restaurant reservation these days you usually get charged something. Who RSVPs to a formal event and then just doesn't show? You can't even send a text and fake an emergency? Please. They didn't actually send the invoice to the offenders, they just posted a mock invoice to a social media stream as a joke.

That's not what happened, you didn't read the article. They were pissed that someone DIDNT respond to the invite either way. So they booked shit anyways and of course the people who they never heard from never showed up. They never said they were attending.
You cant bill people who didnt respond to your invite. That's like a restaurant sending you an invite to a private party and then sending you a bill because you failed to answer it.

Are you mentally ill, R9? The guests DID RSVP but still didn't show. This is what the article says:
"The invoice also read: “This invoice is being sent to you because you confirmed seat(s) at the wedding reception during the Final Headcount.
“Because you didn’t call or give us proper notice that you wouldn’t be in attendance, this amount is what you owe us for paying for your seat(s) in advance. You can pay via Zelle or PayPal. Please reach out to us and let us know which method of payment works for you. Thank you!”
Do you understand what "confirmed seats" means?

I would send the CVS Blender I would have given as a gift if I had gone.

The guy didn't expect them to pay but just wanted to call them out for their shitty behavior. It really is lousy. My parents were furious at the people who rsvped to my sister's wedding and then couldn't be bothered to show without any explanation.
