Socialite Elisabeth Kieselstein Cord has died

This is pretty shocking.

And just like that...

by Anonymousreply 1August 30, 2021 1:58 PM

Super unlikely that Lyme would kill unexpectedly if there were not some known longstanding complication.

The cocaine on the east end has recently reported to be contaminated with lethal doses of fentanyl. That’s my guess.

by Anonymousreply 2August 30, 2021 3:11 PM

She's got a 90's supermodel look going on, sort of a mix between Niki Taylor and Cindy Crawford.

by Anonymousreply 3August 30, 2021 3:19 PM

Socialites don't exist anymore. Oh no siree. Now back in the day those were real socialites. They were women with class. Classy women.

by Anonymousreply 4August 30, 2021 3:26 PM

I'll say something nice: I appreciate a socialite I've never heard of.

by Anonymousreply 5August 30, 2021 3:27 PM

Lyme? Is that the new word for exhaustion?

by Anonymousreply 6August 30, 2021 3:56 PM

She was very big in the early 2000s.

by Anonymousreply 7August 30, 2021 8:10 PM

I'm glad she lost the weight before she died. Everyone should know that happiness.

by Anonymousreply 8August 30, 2021 8:12 PM

At least she left a skinny corpse!!

by Anonymousreply 9August 30, 2021 8:15 PM

Sounds like an episode of Inspector Morse.

by Anonymousreply 10August 30, 2021 8:25 PM

Call Jessica Fletcher!

by Anonymousreply 11August 30, 2021 8:26 PM

[quote] Elisabeth Kieselstein Cord Hamm

That name is right out of central casting.

by Anonymousreply 12August 30, 2021 8:29 PM

I got a few of her dads belts when my dad died but I never wear them. Gaudy, enormous buckles.

by Anonymousreply 13August 30, 2021 9:03 PM

Will the family keep her nose as a charm on a bracelet?

by Anonymousreply 14August 30, 2021 9:09 PM

Thank you, Tony. That made such a difference.

by Anonymousreply 15August 30, 2021 9:11 PM

Anorexia?

by Anonymousreply 16August 30, 2021 9:36 PM

Not to be unkind, but utterly unremarkable and unnecessary of a thread.

by Anonymousreply 17August 30, 2021 9:37 PM

I told you Lyme is serious and not some Munchie Moochie thing!

by Anonymousreply 18August 30, 2021 9:38 PM

The Fibromyalgia was so blue that day.

by Anonymousreply 19August 30, 2021 9:39 PM

Will the park have slides and swings?

by Anonymousreply 20August 30, 2021 9:40 PM

I really believed in Lyme as a thing when I saw the Kathleen Hanna documentary (she seemed to have legitimate medical problems), but now any mention of Lyme makes me think someone has mental issues.

by Anonymousreply 21August 30, 2021 9:41 PM

It strikes me as a bit…odd to announce your child has died and then instead of saying you’re building a park in her memory, you say the park is in memory of other people whose children died.

by Anonymousreply 22August 30, 2021 9:42 PM

Seems a bit strange - maybe this poor woman had some other health problems as well?

by Anonymousreply 23August 30, 2021 9:54 PM

[quote]Will the park have slides and swings?

More importantly, will there be a Ramble?

by Anonymousreply 24August 30, 2021 10:08 PM

My friend's niece died from Lyme disease. She had an extreme case (I assume) where it affected her joints and mobility. She couldn't work. I think she had it approx 10 years. I know she also texted positive for rocky mountain spotted fever too. I don't know what effect that had. She died in her sleep and there were no rumors that it was an OD. Also, in her 40s.

by Anonymousreply 25August 30, 2021 10:24 PM

But was she a socialite?

by Anonymousreply 26August 30, 2021 10:28 PM

"I DON'T KNOW HER" WHO IS SHE?

by Anonymousreply 27August 30, 2021 10:33 PM

[quote]Will the park have slides and swings?

More importantly, won't it attract Lyme disease-bearing deer?

by Anonymousreply 28August 30, 2021 10:34 PM

Was she one of Ramona Singer's closest girlfriends?

by Anonymousreply 29August 30, 2021 10:38 PM

RIP but for some reason her name annoys me

by Anonymousreply 30August 30, 2021 10:59 PM

This thread reminds of that time we were invited to share memories of some obscure Belgian princess who none of us had ever heard of.

RIP, what'syernames.

by Anonymousreply 31August 31, 2021 12:34 AM

[quote]I really believed in Lyme as a thing when I saw the Kathleen Hanna documentary (she seemed to have legitimate medical problems), but now any mention of Lyme makes me think someone has mental issues.

Yeah, there was a scene where she was out of it after taking her medication and another scene where Adam is giving her a shot in her arm. Irene from the Real World Seattle also has Lyme but based on the way I remember her on the show (not including the slap) she also seems like she has mental health issues.

by Anonymousreply 32August 31, 2021 3:22 AM

r4 What is the definition or criteria for being classed as a socialite?

by Anonymousreply 33August 31, 2021 3:25 AM

She was social-Lite.

by Anonymousreply 34August 31, 2021 3:45 AM

R33 for starters they need to be able to clutch pearls

by Anonymousreply 35August 31, 2021 3:53 AM

Hmm this could be more likely a cause of death than Lyme

NY Times

The Cocaine Was Laced With Fentanyl. Now Six Are Dead From Overdoses.

The deaths over three days in Suffolk County reflect a dangerous shift in the street-drug marketplace, according to police and prosecutors.

SOUTHOLD, N.Y. — The 911 calls to the Southold Town Police Department began to pour in on a Wednesday. And for three days they did not stop.

Female, 34, Greenport Village, unresponsive.

Male, 25, Southold, unresponsive.

Male, 30, Southold, unresponsive.

Male, 27, Greenport Village, unresponsive.

Male, 32, East Marion, unresponsive.

Male, 40, Shelter Island, unresponsive.

By Friday at least eight people in the string of small towns along Long Island’s North Fork had overdosed, and six of them — none older than 40 — were dead. Their deaths were caused, police said, by cocaine laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that can be 50 times more powerful than heroin.

by Anonymousreply 36September 1, 2021 1:20 AM

Exactly R36. If she was decompensating, why was she not taken to a hospital? So she had an acute event - suicide/overdose.

by Anonymousreply 37September 1, 2021 1:39 AM

r21 I saw the Kathleen Hanna doc, and that's exactly when I linked Lyme disease to mental illness. Of course she conveniently caught the "disease" after she married the lead Beastie Boy and secured her financial future. Kathleen is madder than a box of frogs.

by Anonymousreply 38September 1, 2021 1:45 AM

... of the Hamptonsh Cord Hammsh?

by Anonymousreply 39September 1, 2021 2:02 AM

Omg details pls R38.

by Anonymousreply 40September 1, 2021 2:02 AM

Who’s getting her stuff?

by Anonymousreply 41September 1, 2021 2:07 AM

Lyme is the new Chronic Fatigue soon to be replaced by long haul Covid. The excuse for all the fraus to have an excuse not to fuck their husbands.

by Anonymousreply 42September 1, 2021 2:11 AM

Came here to say R19 wins the internet this week.

by Anonymousreply 43September 1, 2021 2:14 AM

Is the casket covered in black alligator with sterling silver serpent handles?

by Anonymousreply 44September 1, 2021 2:38 AM

I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Her parents must be devastated, especially her mom, whom she was quite close to all of her life.

by Anonymousreply 45September 1, 2021 2:47 AM

Her name was epic. Please watch this clip, it is very funny.

Tick-bitten decaying-for-a-decade dead socialite gets memorial park for her trouble.

by Anonymousreply 47September 1, 2021 3:00 AM

What was her sobriquet?

by Anonymousreply 48September 1, 2021 3:08 AM

Socialite? She ain't no Kitty Carlisle

by Anonymousreply 49September 1, 2021 3:08 AM

I once lived for 2 years in Tegucigalpa Honduras. I taught at an Embassy school, with many of the countries children of the "elite", and some of their mothers were knows as "socialites". They even had a monthly glossy magazine that highlighted their lifestyles, homes, parties, children, and charity work. They sent their kids to the states for college, bodyguards, armored cars, all that. Same in Lagos Nigeria. One of the poorest most violent counties in the world. People even called them socialites, like it was their job. It's all relative I guess. This lady hung out too much in Connecticut and actually caught Lyme Disease is my guess. Or yeah, fentanyl and Lyme Disease.

by Anonymousreply 50September 1, 2021 3:14 AM

You bitches are rough. Or just provincial.

by Anonymousreply 51September 1, 2021 4:24 AM

Do we know why she died yet?

by Anonymousreply 52September 3, 2021 9:55 PM

Lessons learned from dear old Mom: "You can never be too rich or too thin."

Sadly, she forgot to say, "Being too thin can make you too dead."

Has the cause of death been released yet?

by Anonymousreply 55September 8, 2021 1:36 AM

My partner’s brother is a successful radiologist. His (now ex) wife had never worked in 20 years of marriage, and contracted Lyme 7-8 years ago. She quite literally didn’t get out of the bed more days than not. She lost a lot of weight, chopped her hair off, and looked horrible..her skin turned a dull gray color. She was resentful that he wasn’t around the house more often. They divorced last year and she magically recovered. She now has an active social life, does orange theory, and went back to college. It’s absolutely bizarre, and now I think that it was just depression. Is it that easy to get a doctor to diagnose Lyme disease?

by Anonymousreply 56September 8, 2021 2:00 AM

^ I have a cousin who is my age and when we were kids he was diagnosed with Lyme. He stopped growing at age ten! He is literally five feet tall in his 40s and everyone in my family blames Lyme.
