Welp. September is almost here.

Fall. Leaves changing color. Cooler weather.

This year is just flying by, isn't it?

I love the "soft light" of Fall.

It's so calming and peaceful.

Yep, we’ll all be dead eventually.

by Anonymousreply 2August 27, 2021 3:54 PM

Lol R2.

Namaste to you, too!

by Anonymousreply 3August 27, 2021 3:56 PM

Going too fast, I'm not ready for summer to end.

by Anonymousreply 4August 27, 2021 4:33 PM

Pumpkin Spice time, everyone!!!!

by Anonymousreply 5August 27, 2021 4:36 PM

All the years fly by, really.

by Anonymousreply 6August 27, 2021 4:40 PM

🎶 Will I see you in September? 🎶

by Anonymousreply 7August 27, 2021 4:43 PM

It's in the 80's here right up til Halloween anymore, thanks to global warming. Last year we had green leaves still on the trees til November, which was unheard of when I was a child.

September is just August II.

by Anonymousreply 8August 27, 2021 4:46 PM

I can't tell if r5 is serious or is just being a cunt. Little on earth is worse than pumpkin spice. Devoting months to it instead of ten minutes after eating Thanksgiving dinner is a crime against humanity. I avoid Starbucks and Trader Joe's during this season, and frankly, every other season as well.

by Anonymousreply 9August 27, 2021 4:47 PM

Thank God. The humidity can't dissipate fast enough. I always travel in the fall because it's the best time--mild weather, most of the country has little rain, no crowds, no screaming kids.

by Anonymousreply 10August 27, 2021 4:51 PM

try to remember the kind of September...

by Anonymousreply 11August 27, 2021 4:52 PM

I bought some new mugs to cradle from Dollar Tree.

by Anonymousreply 12August 27, 2021 4:53 PM

Wake me up when September ends.

by Anonymousreply 13August 27, 2021 4:53 PM

Major shit is coming down

by Anonymousreply 14August 27, 2021 4:55 PM

Okay R14, I'll bite.

What kind of "major shit," and when?

by Anonymousreply 15August 27, 2021 4:57 PM

I love fall, but wish I was in a better space both mentally and physically to enjoy it. I have too much on my mind.

by Anonymousreply 16August 27, 2021 4:57 PM

and it's probably going to be another 3 months before the weather actually cools down to normal fall temperatures.

by Anonymousreply 17August 27, 2021 5:08 PM

Well, R14?

We're still waiting.

by Anonymousreply 18August 27, 2021 5:13 PM

Fall is the death of summer and it makes me sad. It gets dark at 8 pm now and is noticeably darker at 6:30 when I finish up with work.

I think we’re going to have an early fall. Some leaves are already turning and the yellow jackets are being stupid already, usually don’t see this kind of frenzy until October.

by Anonymousreply 19August 27, 2021 5:35 PM

R14, here . Except economic collapse, homeless increases and covid variants. Get your head out of your ass and face the music

by Anonymousreply 20August 27, 2021 6:10 PM

Expect

by Anonymousreply 21August 27, 2021 6:11 PM

[quote] R14 here . Except economic collapse, homeless increases and covid variants. Get your head out of your ass and face the music

That's like every year, since the beginning of time.

by Anonymousreply 22August 27, 2021 7:20 PM

[quote] Going too fast, I'm not ready for summer to end.

Not me. I hate August. September and the fall and all that brings is my next favorite time of year after spring. I don’t like extremes in the weather.

by Anonymousreply 23August 27, 2021 7:26 PM

R16, we’re here for you, hun. And we ain’t goin nowhere.

by Anonymousreply 24August 27, 2021 7:27 PM

With COVID on the uptick, I'll be expecting a new round of stimulus checks when everything shuts down again in the fall.

Thanks, Joe!

by Anonymousreply 25August 27, 2021 7:58 PM

Fall is my favorite season.

Not too hot, not too cold.

And it gets dark early.

What more could you ask for?

by Anonymousreply 26August 27, 2021 8:10 PM

Amen, r26.

by Anonymousreply 27August 27, 2021 8:18 PM

I turn 60 the end of September. Fortunately I only look 25.

by Anonymousreply 30August 27, 2021 10:10 PM

Shit, it's six more weeks of summer down here!

Fall my ass!

by Anonymousreply 31August 27, 2021 10:12 PM

fall doesn't begin until September 22nd.

by Anonymousreply 32August 27, 2021 10:27 PM

I don't mind Fall much, but I hate winter. I wish we could have a long Fall, 2 weeks of Winter around the holidays, than a glide into a decent Spring, then a long Summer.

by Anonymousreply 33August 27, 2021 11:26 PM

Looking forward to the temperature in NYC plunging into the 80s.

by Anonymousreply 34August 27, 2021 11:35 PM

There is no winter in west coast

by Anonymousreply 35August 27, 2021 11:37 PM

With global warming winter is going to become the new fall.

move to the south US. That pretty much describes our weather. Though winter and cold temps don't really happen until late January.

by Anonymousreply 38August 28, 2021 2:49 AM

Warning: that cheap stuff has lead in it.

Fall is definitely almost here.

The light is getting softer in the afternoon.

by Anonymousreply 42August 28, 2021 9:43 PM

In some parts of world, this 1st "BER" month ushers in the holiday season. Christmas songs would start playing in the radio.

by Anonymousreply 43August 31, 2021 10:38 PM

Can't believe temps will only be in the 80s soon enough.

by Anonymousreply 44August 31, 2021 10:43 PM

Summertime kids in the street. They were up on the roof laughing at the heat. That was the last I ever saw of you. Now it’s December, cold and dark. No more rainbows up on Central Park.

by Anonymousreply 45August 31, 2021 10:52 PM

Is that one of them haikus?

by Anonymousreply 46August 31, 2021 11:11 PM

I like autumn until about Halloween. November is ghastly in Chicago. The leaves all fell off the trees by Halloween, but the previous two years I was still raking leaves into December.

by Anonymousreply 47August 31, 2021 11:18 PM

Quote from OP: "This year is just flying by, isn't it?"

Yes it is and the anxiety and subdued terror of what is happening to our country continues without relief. I do hope you all are dealing with it much better than I am. It affects us all and we all cope in various ways. For people like myself who have always been "worries", it has been mentally devastating. My mother worried about everything. I always told myself I would never do that, yet here I am. I am not sure if it is a learned behavior or hereditary. Either way it truly sucks, 😆. If I only had zannies! Anyone know how I can do that? 😇

by Anonymousreply 48August 31, 2021 11:21 PM

R48- That should be worrier. Fall has always been my favorite time of year. Almost spiritual. The relief from the heat is so welcomed. It is the only season I really love and look forward to. Pumpkins! 🎃

by Anonymousreply 49August 31, 2021 11:25 PM

I've never felt so alienated in my life. My mother is (newly and finally) out of my life (by my choice) and the rest of my family has pretty much ostracized me as a result. I have very few friends left and my birthday falls in September. I am increasingly thinking about how meaningless my life feels and how few people would care if I was gone. I just don't know how to feel better.

I'm just glad summer is finally winding down. It's really hot here in Georgia, and I'm ready for the cool that usually takes hold from, October to till about late April. Those are my happy months as far as the weather goes.

That means long cool nighttime walks and time to myself to enjoy the weather and fresh air.

I just love it!

by Anonymousreply 57September 1, 2021 12:47 AM

September is officially here.

Three weeks until Fall!

by Anonymousreply 58September 1, 2021 12:55 AM

R50 Happy Birthday to you from another September baby! We have the best birthday month.

by Anonymousreply 72September 2, 2021 1:21 AM

I hope everyone is doing welp.

by Anonymousreply 73September 2, 2021 2:10 AM

September is usually ghastly here. It's when summer kicks into high gear and it seems to go on forever. Sometimes it stretches into Oct. I like when Nov arrives, then the holiday season from Nov-Jan is my favorite part of the year. I put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and it stays up until Feb 1. Although last year it stayed up all year. I put it up in Nov 2019 and took it down for about 2 weeks in Feb 2020. Then back up it went due to the pandemic and stayed up until March 2020. I needed something that gave me little moments of happy and coziness during all the chaos.

by Anonymousreply 74September 2, 2021 7:30 AM

Oops, I meant it stayed up all year until March *2021* when the lights started to burn out.

by Anonymousreply 75September 2, 2021 7:31 AM

Believe it or not, today - today was exceptionally Autumn-like in (my part of) NorCal. didn't get above 70 and "all the leaves are brown" and the skies were a bit overcast, winds blowing. Felt like an actual fall-like day.

by Anonymousreply 76September 2, 2021 8:08 AM

Fall? It's 28°C today. It's so dry we still have forest fire warnings.

by Anonymousreply 77September 2, 2021 8:11 AM

We do too, r77. but today was cool. we have another month and half before we're out of the woods. but today felt like an actual fall day.

by Anonymousreply 78September 2, 2021 8:16 AM

Where are you, R74?

by Anonymousreply 79September 3, 2021 6:00 AM

Is anyone getting some cold weather yet?

by Anonymousreply 80September 14, 2021 2:46 AM

No. The forecast for Ohio is we won't see the 60s til mid-October.

So. Fucking. Tired. Of. Sweating.

by Anonymousreply 81September 15, 2021 6:59 AM

Don’t talk about Hawaii. And you’d never want to be here in Christmastime.

by Anonymousreply 82September 15, 2021 1:01 PM

hotter than fuck today, it usually cools down by this time

by Anonymousreply 83September 15, 2021 1:03 PM

What part of the country, R83?

by Anonymousreply 84September 15, 2021 5:34 PM

Would it kill some of you to mention where you are posting from? It's kind of relevant on this thread.

by Anonymousreply 85September 15, 2021 5:54 PM

Exactly, R85.

by Anonymousreply 86September 16, 2021 2:57 PM

Welp. Summer ends next week.

Enjoy the warm weather while you can.

by Anonymousreply 87September 16, 2021 10:28 PM

Adios, summer!

Not gonna miss ya.

by Anonymousreply 88September 16, 2021 10:34 PM

The leaves are just starting to turn here in NY. The good thing about all the rain we had this spring and summer should produce some vibrant foliage over the next six weeks.

It's finally getting colder here in Norway. Just 12°C today. Had to turn om the heat. Can't wait for my electricity bill next month. Should be fun with record high electricity prices :(

September morn. We danced until the night became a brand new day. Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play.

by Anonymousreply 92September 17, 2021 3:44 PM

by Anonymousreply 93September 17, 2021 3:50 PM

What is 12C in F?

by Anonymousreply 94September 17, 2021 7:03 PM

Norgie @ r91

I assumed electricity was cheap in Norge what with all the hydroelectric dams there. No?

by Anonymousreply 95September 17, 2021 7:07 PM

R95 No. We are unfortunately part of the EU market (even though we are not part of the EU, go figure). And the electricity is VERY expensive in the EU right now, so it's exspensive here too. What sucks is Norway is cold half the year. We can expect electricity bills 3 to 4 times more expensive than usual this winter. Can't wait!

by Anonymousreply 96September 17, 2021 7:59 PM
