I was excused or released during the second round of jury selection for his trial. He was not in his jumpsuit the times I saw him in court, he was dressed in a suit and it was disarming. I was relieved when they sent me home.

I grew up in Northern California and it wasn't Cary who made headlines during my childhood, but his younger brother, Steven, who was abducted by a child molester who made the news almost nightly for a while. Sad, sad situation. And he died young. He was my age.
