Ruta Lee says she has done over 1,000 television episodes. Recently I saw her on a Twilight Zone episode where she got to play two distinct personalities. She wasn't bad in fact she was really good, sexy on the one hand and a shew on the other. Lots of personality even at 86). But she didn't really ever cross over into movies. Was she always considered a TV star?
...shrew on the other ...
not a shew lol

Ruta Lee was on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast a few months ago promoting her book "Consider Your Ass Kissed."

She’s no Carole Cook.

Wouldn't most of these episodes be "High Rollers," where she rolled the dice for Alex Trebek?

She's no Rula Lenska.

She was never considered any kind of a star.
Unlike me.

How's that for coincidence!
I have been binge watching on the original Perry Mason TV show.
And today, there was Ruta Lee in "The Case of the Foot-Loose Doll"! Season Two, Episode 15!!!
She was a young brunette.
The episode first aired January 24, 1959.

Not to be confused with Ruta Begga.

She was in films -like Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn - so she dabbled.
Does she out others and herself in this book? I'll read it if this is the case.

You can't get it on Kindle. It's more of a coffee table paperback with lots of pictures. She tells many Hollywood stories and reveals the one person she never liked. I don't think she outs anyone.

She was a popular star on stage at Casa Manana in Ft. Worth. I saw her in several productions.

R12. Dallas boy here.
Regarding Casa Manana, bitch “owned” the place.
I think half of her 1000 TV appearances were Bobbie Wygant interviews.

Wasn’t she one of the seven brides for seven Brothers?

Ruta Lee and George Maharis were on Skip E. Lowe's old cable show with a drag queen from La Cage Au Folles.

A very bitchy Ruta Lee from The Twilight Zone. "I think she's a brassy, conniving, covetous little broad. I could forgive her the fact that she's made out of asbestos and doesn't have a heart in her body."
