Spring Water Shortage

My Wal-Mart is all out of spring water!!!! So I went to another Wal-Mart and a Target and they’re both out too!!!!!

Purified Drinking Water is NOT THE SAME THING!!!!!!!! I need SPRING water.

by Anonymousreply 44August 15, 2021 9:23 PM

Get a Britta and shut the fuck up, fragile flower.

R1 I already said

[quote] Purified Drinking Water is NOT THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!

You may not be able to taste the difference but I can. This is completely unacceptable.

by Anonymousreply 2August 13, 2021 3:51 AM

Mountain spring water actually tastes good and has a lot of natural minerals. Britta is just filtered tap. In NY you are fine but in many places in the US, not so much.

by Anonymousreply 3August 13, 2021 4:01 AM

R3 gets it. Yes, NYC has great tap water and always ice cold. I miss it. But now I’m in a state with gross tap water.

by Anonymousreply 4August 13, 2021 4:15 AM

Walmart and Kroger are both out of Cat Litter. No Joke. There is a massive shortage. Taco Sauce shortage also.

by Anonymousreply 5August 13, 2021 4:18 AM

R5 luckily I don’t have a cat. But if you do… what are you supposed to do right now?

by Anonymousreply 6August 13, 2021 4:22 AM

I finally found some Crystal Geyser spring water. Not my favorite brand, but since it’s all I could find after going to four stores, I stocked up.

by Anonymousreply 7August 13, 2021 4:29 AM

R6 = They are out of the 20 pound bags. I literally bought 13 small 10 pound bags--every one I could get my hands on. My Walmart is right next door to Kroger. Both were out except for the fancy 14 dollar bags.

by Anonymousreply 8August 13, 2021 4:32 AM

You’re delusional if you believe it actually comes from a spring.

by Anonymousreply 9August 13, 2021 4:35 AM

I've never been "that person" who refuses to drink tap water, but the studio i live in now - the tap water has a slightly moldy taste to it. It really started to bother me, so now i get gallon jugs of crystal geyser. I feel bad about the plastic waste, but it's not worth potentially ingesting mold. i wish the grocery store down the street had one of those water dispenser machines where you fill your own but it doesn't :(

by Anonymousreply 10August 13, 2021 4:51 AM

Siring water is for closers!

by Anonymousreply 11August 13, 2021 5:41 AM

Spring water is for closers!

by Anonymousreply 12August 13, 2021 5:42 AM

OP, have you not heard of Evian and San Pelegrino? I doubt that the the stores are out of these brands. Evian is the best, with the latter a close second.

by Anonymousreply 13August 13, 2021 5:47 AM

R9 I swear, you DLers will believe every word out of politicians’ mouths and then have conspiracy theories about the oddest things.

Where do you think spring water comes from, Karen? Jupiter?

by Anonymousreply 14August 13, 2021 1:31 PM

R8 what would you have done if they ran out of the ten pound bags?

by Anonymousreply 15August 13, 2021 1:34 PM

Also I did some research and apparently the issue is a plastic shortage.

by Anonymousreply 16August 13, 2021 1:35 PM

The spring water I purchase (Ice Mountain) is actually bottled at Everett springs in Michigan. A lot of it is actually from a spring. My Walmart’s are out too. My tap water is basically unsafe to drink (well). I’ll need to check Costco.

by Anonymousreply 17August 13, 2021 1:35 PM

[quote]Where do you think spring water comes from, Karen? Jupiter?

No, R14, most of it comes from a tap, not so unlike the one in your bathtub. Apparently, you buy the notion that elves carry it down from the Alps in tiny buckets, and carefully funnel it into hand-crafted crystal vessels.

I'm selling the Brooklyn Bridge, if you're interested...

by Anonymousreply 18August 13, 2021 2:58 PM

In order to be called “spring water,” according to the EPA, a product has to be either “collected at the point where water flows naturally to the earth’s surface or from a borehole that taps into the underground source.” Unlike the term “spring water,” other terms like “glacier water” or “mountain water” aren’t regulated and “may not indicate that the water is necessarily from a pristine area,” according to the EPA.

Gleick found that only about 55 percent of bottled waters are actual spring water. The other 45 percent of brands is mostly treated tap water. Aquafina, PepsiCo’s bottled water brand, and Dasani, which is Coke’s, are from municipal sources.

I recommend you buy property that contains a spring so you'll never run out.

by Anonymousreply 20August 13, 2021 3:03 PM

Have it delivered to your residence in 3 or 5 gallon bottles. The empties get picked up to be sanitized and refilled so there’s no plastic waste. If you don’t want to rent a dispenser then buy a ceramic countertop reservoir (that’s what I use). Find a local company that gets their water from a protected spring close to where you live.

by Anonymousreply 21August 13, 2021 3:04 PM

I have a well into a quartz mountain side!

by Anonymousreply 22August 13, 2021 3:06 PM

I came here to write what R5 said. There's a big shortage of cat litter and I think dry cat food. I heard it was because of trucking strike and lack of exporting from other countries because of Covid

by Anonymousreply 23August 13, 2021 3:08 PM

R18 I don’t think you understand what a “spring” is. A spring and a tap are not incompatible.

by Anonymousreply 24August 13, 2021 3:26 PM

R23 I heard it was due to a silicone shortage.

by Anonymousreply 25August 13, 2021 3:28 PM

Sorry your ghetto neighborhood isn't well stocked.

by Anonymousreply 26August 13, 2021 3:37 PM

[quote] I don’t think you understand what a “spring” is.

R24, I fully understand what a spring is, thanks. The point I was making from the very beginning is that much of the bottled water that tries to pass itself off as spring water is nothing more than filtered water that comes from the same source as the water that flushes your toilet or fills your tub. It markets itself and thrives off of the same people who believe that anything that says "organic" is actually organic.

by Anonymousreply 27August 13, 2021 4:13 PM

R27 no, that is labeled as “purified filtered water.” Which, as I said in my first post, I was able to find but did not want.

by Anonymousreply 28August 13, 2021 6:27 PM

Fiji Water is only 2% from Fiji. The rest is from the Gulf of Mexico--which is where the BP Oil Spill happened...Drink up!!!.....LINK

I’m signed up with ReadyRefresh water delivery. I get 4 cases of deer park delivered monthly. It’s easier to me.

by Anonymousreply 30August 14, 2021 1:43 PM

According to Worldometer right now there are 6,597,447 active cases of Covid in the U.S., with a total of 637,161 deaths. That MIGHT put a crimp in the supply chain.

My local groceries are short on Gatorade. That and coffee have been harder to find lately, though I am able to find paper products.

by Anonymousreply 32August 14, 2021 5:35 PM

Cat litter shortage is an issue, the cat will not use a dirty litter box.

by Anonymousreply 33August 14, 2021 6:14 PM

[quote]You’re delusional if you believe it actually comes from a spring.

Sorry Gramps your "knowledge" about bottled water from a 1980's 20/20 episode is about as up to date as your pleated pants. You Boomers are so out of touch it's exhausting. Spring water like Arrowhead or S. Pellegrino have to come from a real source as advertised. "Drinking water", glacier water, etc come from the tap of your local city usually and run through a charcoal filter. So yes 50% of bottled water is tap but we knew that 30 years ago. It's not all garbage or a scam, the government is not out to get you. Try doing some research Grandpa, there's this new thing you might try, called GOOGLE.

Then just let them use Pretty Litter instead.

r34 is a dumbfuck as he admits half of it is fake.

by Anonymousreply 36August 14, 2021 11:49 PM

R36 can't admit he is wrong, typical Boomer. Apparently he can't read, has low comprehension skills or most likely cant accept known facts and invents alternative realities so he can be always right in his own little world. I never said all water is from a mountain spring. As I said from the start, there is a difference between Spring Water and Drinking Water. Some of us actually research food or water before we buy it Grandpa.

by Anonymousreply 38August 15, 2021 12:06 AM

Speaking of prices---Why the hell did a 2 liter of Coca Cola jump up to $2.15?. Don't they know people cannot afford that price?. That is like 65 dollars a month!!....Coke is blaming "commodity costs"..

James Quincey CEO

Yet another Brit turning America to shit. Can we put him on a boat with Milky Loads and Mylo and send him back across the pond?

[quote] Why the hell did a 2 liter of Coca Cola jump up to $2.15?. Don't they know people cannot afford that price?. That is like 65 dollars a month!!

I hope to God you're joking, and that you don't actually drink two liters of Coke every day.

by Anonymousreply 42August 15, 2021 9:25 AM

R42. Of course I do. And it is getting expensive!!

by Anonymousreply 43August 15, 2021 10:00 AM

Switch to Diet Coke, same price but at least you wont be dumping all that sugar into your system every day.

Oh, and please shut the fuck up you Diet Coke haters who say it makes you fat. That tired Frau myth has been debunked as flawed studies. No Aspartame does not give you brain cancer. It's one of the most studied compounds in history and no scientific unbiased double blind study has ever proven that. The people who claim such things are on par with My Pillow Guy and his similar grasp on what he calls facts.
