Said it as part of a personal anecdote about how "Critical Race Theory" shouldn't be taught in elementary schools. These clowns are really running on empty.
DL Semi-Fave Bill Hemmer Mocked for Saying Karl Marx Wrote Mein Kampf

Meanwhile, Madison Crawdad is getting the word out about 1984, "a great fiction novel to read."
NOT to be confused with one of those mediocre nonfiction novels to burn.

At least these idiots are paid to lie about what CRT actually is, what's the excuse of the imbeciles on Dl and other places who repeat those lies?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 11, 2021 1:15 PM |
Everytime I see CRT I think of cathode ray tubes.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 11, 2021 1:16 PM |
OMG, R1. He's saying it like it's some new novel he just picked up when most adults read it in JHS/HS.
How stupid is he that he thought he looked smart writing that?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 11, 2021 1:18 PM |
money for nothing and his checks for free
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 11, 2021 1:18 PM |
Everyone knows Harper Lee wrote that.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 11, 2021 1:20 PM |
A “fiction novel”? That’s not a thing, Madison. Truly a complete idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 11, 2021 1:24 PM |
Surprise - he's been known as a himbo for decades!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 11, 2021 1:26 PM |
Does he say 1848? What cockamamie connections is he making in his grey matter? There IS the 1848 French Revolution. Completely unrelated to Karl Marx. As far as I remember from my French History. Yet this doofus knows Karl's birthplace. And why the switch of Das Kapital with Mein Kampf?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 11, 2021 1:28 PM |
Jesus, when I looked @R1's link with that Cawthorn fool, I saw someone posted this. Holy shit, this is his writing???
I knew he was a moron, but I didn't think it was this bad. And his district needs to be sterilized:
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 11, 2021 1:29 PM |
Well, there’s Capote’s ‘In Cold Blood’, commonly acknowledged as *non-fiction* novel, so there’s that
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 11, 2021 1:30 PM |
R1's Madison C quote reminds me of Trump extemporizing about Frederick Douglass as "an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more." It's not just that they're clueless; they assume the rest of us—or at least their redneck audience—is equally clueless. I think Bill Hemmer just made a simple mistake and meant to say "Communist Manifesto" or something, but the fact that he made it is telling.

R7 Be nice. He's from North Carolina, where the only thing schools teach about literature words books fiction novels is that every home should have them in case families get trapped inside during winter snow ice and need something to fire burn for heat warmth.
As they say in North Carolina, "the only nonfiction book is The Bible, and especially Revelation because of the gunfights and the dragons. Everything else is a fiction novel."
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 11, 2021 1:31 PM |
Did he go off teleprompter? These dummies need to just read what's on there.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 11, 2021 1:31 PM |
R12 He said he of course wanted to make a pilgrimage to the home of the author of Mein Kampf "to find out what it's all about." He may have mixed up the authors, but he said what he meant otherwise.

Why do the Cons always want to scare us that we are just one moment away from: Nazism, Communism, Fascism, blah blah blah-- When it was the cons that tried to overthrow democracy on Jan 6?

I also went to Ann Frank’s house in Auschwitz to see how she played Marco Polo in the attic.

Will this eligible bachelor ever find the right woman?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 11, 2021 1:36 PM |
While in California, I of course made a pilgrimage to a former Japanese internment camp, just out of curiosity to find out how Margaret Cho is supposed to be living.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 11, 2021 1:39 PM |
R9 AH, i had not had my coffee. I see - 1848 - the Communist Manifesto.

Sometimes I think about Noah and his sister Joan of Arc. She was a hero who saved the animals and France too but the bad people thought she was a witch so they burned her. I like to think that if I were alive in the Civil Wars years, Joan would have been a fan, and Lincoln too. I don't know if they knew each other but probably because they both loved Jesus.

by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 11, 2021 2:35 PM |
I have loved Bill Hemmer for a long time. Leave him be,

Has anyone introduced Maddie Cawthorn to the fiction book Animal Farm, yet?
“Mommy, I thought Aminal Farm was about Noah’s Ark”.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 11, 2021 2:56 PM |
R29 "It IS Noah's Ark. Half the animals on the ark were dirty communists and should have been left to DIE!"
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 11, 2021 3:13 PM |
Hemmer's hair is as gray as his suit.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 11, 2021 3:20 PM |
Wrong Marx, Bill. We have film of the actual writing of Mein Kampf.

Conservatives love mixing right-wing and left-wing authoritarianism together. Another example is their insistence that "the Nazis were socialists, it's in their name!" That's how they confuse the gullible.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 11, 2021 4:46 PM |
Yeah, and they don’t realize that they’re government, no matter who’s in charge, is a capitalist-socialist mix. What both sides should be fighting against is authoritarianism and Libertarianism.

Louis CK trounces MSNBC news anchors on Jeopardy. What's worse is the news people seem so smug and self satisfied answering correctly all those softball questions. Wolf Blitzer was embarrassing as well. These people are not intelligent. They just are good at being fed lines.

But Republicans nowadays basically ARE authoritarian.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 11, 2021 5:34 PM |
