He's as great an actor as the role requires. The problem is in the 2000s the challenging roles were fewer and further between.

I've noticed he takes breaks between his roles. That seems like a smart decision because it decreased an oversaturation of his image which helped keep him "fresh" to the audience.

Tom has the Midas touch . He’s had many amazing roles in exceptional films . An enviable career .

Eyes Wide Shut is the only movie I can bear to watch him in. I can't see beyond how disturbed he is.

By and large, Cruise ranged from conventionally good-looking to extremely hot and he's aged well. However, the one role where he was supposed to be ethereal and gorgeous left me cold: the vampire Lestat in Interview With a Vampire.

Minority Report is on my TV. It is really hard to watch. The direction is so bad. Everyone who isn't Ton Cruise is talking like a stereotypical movie villain with a weird slow-then-fast cadence and a whispery tone. The writing is also terrible. Everyone is explaining everything. Why do people like this movie and how is Spielberg considered a great director? Schindler's List, yes, and I guess Jurassic Park and Jaws. But his direction is so over the top it makes my skin crawl.
