We have the same policy in Ireland. To enter a pub or restaurant, you must present your EU Digital vaccine certificate.

If you want to participate in society - get vaccinated. Seems like the most logical way to contain the spread and save lives.

Nurses and care home workers who refuse to be vaccinated will lose their jobs.

What the fuck are you barking about OP? All he’s done is set up a framework whereby only vaccinated people are allowed to go to certain spaces like restaurants, cinemas, etc. This makes absolute sense and is replicated by an increasing number of countries.

If we want a return to a semblance of normalcy, imposing full vaccination is the only way forward. If you prefer endless lockdowns, that’s your choice, but don’t fucking try to force it down my throat. COVID is here to stay, we must learn to live with it and change our ways. How fucking difficult is this to understand?

When it's a personal choice whether to protect yourself and others, or not, it makes perfect sense that public venues are a luxury for those who have made the correct choice, for themselves and others. The staff who serve drinks at bars and take tickets at a theatre or a concert should not have to be placed further at risk than necessary. People who take the reasonable precautions should not have to endure the company of people who chose to take no precautions because they believe in witchcraft or Republicans or some celebrity with a deformed baby or some notion of individual rights.

The U.S. does not have a coordinated healthcare system in place that would be able to confirm vaccination status for its citizens. I'm not sure what it would take to implement a vaccination confirmation database like what Europe has.

Macron, unlike so many other French leaders of the past, does not groove on seeing his countrymen die for no reason.

I have an "EU digital Covid Certfiicate" certificate from the the province where I live in Spain, with dates, vaccine, type, my name, date of birth, a 30-or so character alphanumeric identifier, a QR code for scanning, in Spanish and English, with flag icons of my province, Spain, and the EU.

I saved a copy on my phone, or I can call it up from the app of my provincial health service.

The format varies slightly by country but it's recognizably the same set of information on each certificate.

We should just all keep being careful; I haven't stopped wearing masks indoors since my shots, and I'm avoiding being in crowds even outdoors. Not traveling by mass transit (planes, trains, etc.).
