Is his life just too sordid to talk about? I'd think his story would be a natural for all the scandal programs about Hollywood.
Howard E. Rollins Jr.

He was a closeted gay man who died from AIDS. It’s sad, but not sordid.

What was sordid about him?

He went from being a Oscar nominated actor to losing the starring role on a hit TV show to becoming a cross dressing drug addict who died on skid row. It's a lot less tidy than a closeted gay man who died of AIDS.

Rollins was one of the actors who lost the "New Star of the Year" Golden Globe when Pia Zadora's rich old fart husband bought it for her. The other nominees were Elizabeth McGovern, Craig Wasson, Rachel Ward, and Kathleen Turner.

I remember back when they were shooting 'ITHOTN' in suburban Atlanta. Between Rollins and Hugh O'Connor I don't know which one got in the most trouble with the local cops. Lots of drug and drunk driving busts with those two.
