So many good ones.

Newsradio, motherfucker.

Frasier and Roseanne.

Golden Girls was more of an 80s sitcom. It ended in ‘92 and was not at its peak in the 90s

I discovered earlier today that in the That 70s Show season 4 episode Eric's Hot Cousin you can see part of Topher Grace's penis, and a bit of scrotum. Toward the end of the episode, he is running around the basement in ridiculous red underwear, and there are several still shots of him running, in one he is jumping, and the underwear has pulled away from his leg, revealing a bit of thigh, balls, and shaft.

It is a really quick shot, but when I saw it today I went, wait, and rewound, and it is definitely there.

To me Golden Girls is more of an '80s sitcom and That '70s Show more of an '00s one. But, I love all the ones listed.

Married, with Children started tanking big time after season 5, which ended in 1991. From there until its cancellation, it ran on fumes and was terribly unfunny.

R8 Yeah, but Bud and Kelly's bodies and the beautiful Ted McGinley made up for the lack of laughs.

Where’s The Simpsons?

by Anonymousreply 14July 10, 2021 1:03 AM

R14 Simpsons is a cartoon, not a sitcom.

by Anonymousreply 15July 10, 2021 1:04 AM

Always forget The Nanny was 90s

Seems like it took pl,ace in a different era than Seinfeld and Friends.

Everybody Loves Raymond

by Anonymousreply 17July 10, 2021 1:08 AM

R15 Exactly, I don't count it as one either. That is why The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet is still the longest running US sitcom. The Simpsons is the longest running primetime Animated series.

The Golden Girls is not a 90's show.

Where's Blossom?

by Anonymousreply 21July 10, 2021 1:18 AM

R6/R20, thanks!

by Anonymousreply 22July 10, 2021 1:19 AM

I loved Roseanne, Just Shoot Me, Frasier (though I like it much more as an adult than I did as a kid), The Simpsons.

Never liked Seinfeld.

by Anonymousreply 23July 10, 2021 1:21 AM

You're welcome, R22. I feel like I made a real discovery. I searched and didn't find any mention of it.

Pasteur discovered the principals of vaccination, Fleming discovered penicillin, and R6/R20 discovered partial peen that was broadcast in a network sitcom.

Who's to say which is a greater contribution.

Theirs. Absolutely, theirs.

Father Ted.

by Anonymousreply 25July 10, 2021 1:29 AM

I used to love Seinfeld, couldn't get enough of it in syndication. Now I'm thinking it was uber-cynical and I cannot watch it anymore. Friends is sitcom fast-food; it'll always work for me. Currently, I am developing a new appreciation for The Nanny, seasons 1 through 4 only. The show's premise was really lame, but they did a lot right in that show.

by Anonymousreply 26July 10, 2021 1:30 AM

R26 The Nanny works because Fran Fine was the closest CBS has ever gotten to finding another Lucy. It was a throwback to the timeless classic 50s/60s sitcoms.

by Anonymousreply 27July 10, 2021 1:35 AM

R26, thank you.

by Anonymousreply 28July 10, 2021 1:35 AM

Seinfeld, Friends, Mad About You, That 70s Show, 3rd Rock from The Sun, Frasier were all standouts.

by Anonymousreply 29July 10, 2021 2:19 AM

[quote]The Nanny, seasons 1 through 4 only

Totally agree with this. After she and Maxwell got together (which I guess was season 4 or so), that was when it went down the tubes. But everything before that was a lot of fun.
