I think Ben caved to the backlash and passively agressively got rid of Lopez by cheating on her last time. He got embarrassed back then because he wanted to be taken seriously and all the tabloid stuff surrounding her and his friend's opinions scared him off her.

I think now that they're older, he's recuperated the industry respect he'd lost, and she's had continued success, they deserve to give it another shot. It probably won't last, but at least it'll end due to normal relationship reasons (i.e. she's a nightmare and he's a drunken mess), not because of media overexposure or career issues.

I think it’s a combo of both for Garner. She was into him enough, but he was also a bigger catch for her. I never got the impression he was in love with her at all. He is image conscious and trots out the kids for the weekly strolls, but he always seems like he was taken hostage. She definitely calls the papps and props his brand up too, like during his Oscar run. For everyone who criticizes DiCaprio, he’s the smart one. Affleck should’ve followed his lead and just stayed single, dating the flavor of the month.
