Tasteful friends: every landlord’s nightmare

“This formerly majestic 5 bed/4 bath/3 car garage home was once the seller’s pride and joy. Now it’s every landlord’s nightmare and needs someone with firm resolve to appreciate its potential. If you dream of owning your own little slice of hell and turning it into a piece of heaven, then look no further! This house is not for the faint of heart...”

OMG!

by Anonymousreply 1June 16, 2021 9:27 PM

I'd live with the graffiti before I'd live with that purple & lavender kitchen.

by Anonymousreply 2June 16, 2021 9:28 PM

Do they actually use the word “yuppie?”

by Anonymousreply 3June 16, 2021 9:28 PM

That is the lamest graffiti I’ve ever seen. No style!

by Anonymousreply 4June 16, 2021 9:29 PM

This graffiti was done by a white person. Probably named Karen.

by Anonymousreply 5June 16, 2021 9:29 PM

There are soaring ceilings... where they shot that cannonball through the roof.

by Anonymousreply 6June 16, 2021 9:29 PM

When was it majestic? From the outside it looks like a cheap ugly piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 7June 16, 2021 9:29 PM

Urban grit in suburban quiet!

by Anonymousreply 8June 16, 2021 9:30 PM

And how 'bout that! It's not even in Florida!

by Anonymousreply 9June 16, 2021 9:30 PM

I guess Free Covid Rent days are over....

by Anonymousreply 10June 16, 2021 9:34 PM

[quote] Oh, and did I mention it’s in the pink of a geological landslide area? Come feast your senses. DO NOT GO ON BACK DECK. DO NOT OPEN FREEZER IN BASEMENT.

In the pink?

by Anonymousreply 11June 16, 2021 9:35 PM

[quote] It’s not nearly as daunting as the freezer in the basement that’s full of meat and hasn’t had electricity to it for over a year. So be sure to wear your mask. Not for anyone else’s protection but your own. You may not be able to endure the smell if you don’t.

They will NEVER, EVER get rid of the smell.

by Anonymousreply 12June 16, 2021 9:37 PM

Susy sucks.

by Anonymousreply 13June 16, 2021 9:38 PM

I wonder what the story is

They must have seen this as a marketing ploy of some sort, because a couple of hours and some paint would have covered up the graffiti.

by Anonymousreply 14June 16, 2021 9:38 PM

I don't think they will get their cleaning deposit back.

by Anonymousreply 15June 16, 2021 9:44 PM

Wasn't this house in that episode of "Knot's Landing" when Gary Ewing fell off the wagon?

by Anonymousreply 17June 16, 2021 9:47 PM

Drug addict with kids got evicted for non payment of rent?

by Anonymousreply 18June 16, 2021 10:07 PM

Why wouldn’t they clean up the freezer in the basement before showing the house?

Must be fake.

by Anonymousreply 19June 16, 2021 10:08 PM

It’s looks like lazy, unimaginative set design for a low budget tv show.

Setting: meth house in suburban blight.

Budget: $10. Okay, $15.

by Anonymousreply 20June 16, 2021 10:42 PM

The graffiti is one of the few things about the house I like.

by Anonymousreply 21June 16, 2021 10:50 PM

The real estate agent was given lemons, and made lemonade. Turn that frown upside down!

by Anonymousreply 22June 16, 2021 10:54 PM

The real estate agent:

As I suspected, the property manager seems totally sketchy here. From the Daily Mail:

[quote] Foster said the property manager told the owner that the tenant filed a motion to be allowed back into the house to get her things after being evicted and when the request was granted she used the opportunity to unleash her wrath onto the property.

[quote] But Foster said neighbors informed her the actual moving out process took months, leaving her to believe there is something 'fishy' about the property manager's account of what took place.

by Anonymousreply 25June 16, 2021 10:58 PM

All the black spray paint reminds of Betty Broadrick and sprays painting her husband's house.

by Anonymousreply 26June 16, 2021 11:02 PM

$590,000 for that house in that condition? No thanks.

by Anonymousreply 27June 16, 2021 11:02 PM

I smell BS. The shady property manager did this.

by Anonymousreply 28June 16, 2021 11:04 PM

This is why I will NEVER own a rental property, be it a lease on a house or vacation rental house. I don’t trust people to be sane.

by Anonymousreply 29June 16, 2021 11:07 PM

This is what happens when you don't forgive Millennials student loans.

by Anonymousreply 30June 16, 2021 11:10 PM

Actually, Tenant Rights, tenant/landlord mediation and rent control has been proven to decrease hostilities, secure long term stable housing, and help with community safety, and also more democratic neighborhoods/cities/counties/local jurisdiction.

Yes, shady landlords do this all the time. Moreover, shady rental management businesses and eviction lawyers do this all the time, sometimes without the property owners knowledge.

by Anonymousreply 31June 16, 2021 11:18 PM

[quote]This is what happens when you don't forgive Millennials student loans.

No, this is what happens when all of the student loan money is spent on cocaine by people who don't "believe" in abortions.

by Anonymousreply 32June 16, 2021 11:37 PM

Why isnt that tenant in jail ? Surely there has to be a law to prevent this deranged behavior.

by Anonymousreply 33June 16, 2021 11:44 PM

I read “Colorado” and “not for the faint of heart” and just assumed it was the Watt’s murder house up for sale. I’d buy that place before this purple kitchened shit hole.

by Anonymousreply 34June 17, 2021 12:02 AM

“Yes, shady landlords do this all the time“

Do what all the time, R31? Deface houses?

by Anonymousreply 35June 17, 2021 12:22 AM

Jesus. I have lived in Colorado Springs. That is a nice area. Broadmoor adjacent and near Cheyenne Mountain (highly paid military personnel).

I bet the neighbors were happy to see them go.

by Anonymousreply 36June 17, 2021 12:45 AM

Section 8 housing??

by Anonymousreply 37June 17, 2021 1:11 AM

It looks like the Watts murder house. The builders throw these things up, cutting as many corners as possible, and ditch.

by Anonymousreply 38June 17, 2021 1:25 AM

[quote]They will NEVER, EVER get rid of the smell.

I know the feeling.

by Anonymousreply 39June 17, 2021 5:02 AM

Mmmmmm... the smell of pineapple, impulse and spruce.

The only thing to do is move.

by Anonymousreply 40June 17, 2021 12:55 PM

The Zillow link doesn't show anything and says the home is off market. I found the Redfin listing but there's no photo of a freezer or the basement so it's had some photos removed.

The WaPo article says the tenant died and her obviously mentally ill daughter moved in, stopped paying rent, put a new roof on then refused to pay for it, which caused the roofers to have a lien placed on the home. When the daughter was evicted she locked two cats in a room to let them die and spray painted a bunch of the house, plus left her feces all over. Now she can't be found.

^ I'd like to know what soap she uses!

by Anonymousreply 42June 17, 2021 1:22 PM

Evidence of major league systemic mental illness in this family. Do they actually intend to sell the house in this condition? Are they really too cheap or stubborn to pay to hire a hazardous waste cleanup crew and a painting/drywall repair service before putting their property on the market? Or is throwing a public tantrum about it the whole point?

by Anonymousreply 43June 17, 2021 2:02 PM

It's not the owners who are mentally ill, it was the daughter of the original renter who is crazy.

The owners are apparently a woman and her elderly mother, both of whom have health problems. They need to unload the house because they can't take care of it and also before it's foreclosed on, because of all the legal complications the tenant's crazy daughter caused. Personally I suspect they were advised by the real estate agent to list as-is and get the publicity for it, then hope for the best.

by Anonymousreply 44June 17, 2021 4:15 PM

Agree R44-- someone will buy it thinking they are getting it for a very low price-- say $20K less than it would go for normally, but cleaning up the damage would only cost $10K

by Anonymousreply 45June 17, 2021 4:22 PM

But are we SURE Todrick doesn’t actually own it…?

by Anonymousreply 46June 17, 2021 4:52 PM

[quote] cleaning up the damage would only cost $10K

Would it cost only 10K to clean that mess up? Can you get rid of those smells? I am fascinated by this house!

And to the unfunny Cheryl troll: PLEASE fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 47June 17, 2021 4:54 PM

Isn't R47 serious yet fun...

Lighten up, stinky.

by Anonymousreply 48June 17, 2021 5:02 PM

I was spitballing a number as an example R47

I have no idea how embedded the smells are and how bad the damage actually is

by Anonymousreply 49June 17, 2021 5:04 PM

🤣Hahahaha r23, I can totally see it.

"I will sell this house today! I will sell this house today! I will sell this house today!"

I saw this yesterday and knew it would end up here.

by Anonymousreply 51June 17, 2021 5:10 PM

Insanity in Colorado Springs, I am shocked I tell you, just shocked.
