He faked the pancreatic cancer to score $/sympathy for his meth habit. He’s looking better now than during his meth ravaged days.

Makes me wonder if his mental illness was part of what fuelled his belief in spirit possession. Maybe he was experiencing some loss of control himself and contributed that to an entity.

Ryan looks great. In his meth days, he looked one step away from death. If there's someone who's hit the wall hard, it's his ex lover Sergey. Ryan was so cray cray that Sergey got married to a woman.

Ironic that Ryan could have had all what douchebag Zak Bagans has.

I just started revisiting this show on Discovery+. I was a fan as a teenager, as I’ve always been fascinated by the supernatural. While some of the homeowners seem batshit, I think there was a genuine quality about the motley crew of weirdos they had enlisted as the investigators. Eilfie can barely speak, and Chip Coffey and vampiress Rocky Horror psychic Michele Belanger are walking campfests. Ryan actually seemed fairly down to earth, as did Katrina, who I’ve enjoyed seeing on other paranormal-themed shows in the years since. Ryan was handsome; he does look a bit worn out in recent photos (meth is one hell of a drug), but not bad, all things considered. I know he always claimed to be bisexual, but as far as I know he’s only been in relationships with men?

I too would view the show during its original run, I fancied Ryan for some reason. But the whole project was a joke ultimately -- no spirits, ghosts, or entities were ever identified, much less recorded on camera. 30 episodes of 'what was that, did you see that?!' 'Wait, I thought I heard something!' 'This room has a dark vibe, I feel something bad happened here!' Every week, all build-up with absolutely no reveal.

The fact that Buell was a devotee and associate of 'paranormal' über-grifters Ed & Lorraine Warren should have tipped me off at the outset.
