Frosted Cherry.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 4, 2021 1:45 AM |
Frosted cherry also. But I pretty much vote cherry in all the fruit polls.

R6, people are for the most part pure trash. Of course it's winning.

by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 4, 2021 4:01 AM |
Cherry is my favorite. I buy them sometimes and eat them as a snack because I don't eat breakfast, that way I get my sweet fix and feel like I am getting a few vitamins. HA!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 4, 2021 4:04 AM |
None. The most overrated breakfast food ever, made popular by American pigdogs and not only is it unhealthy, it's unhealthy AND tastes disgusting.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 4, 2021 4:09 AM |
I’ve had a pop tart made by a bakery. It was amazing! Now I can’t go back to store-bought pop tarts because they taste like cardboard. It looks easy enough to make at home.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 4, 2021 4:10 AM |
r14 is merely and comprehensively missing the point.
(1) If you're going to bake and you [italic]can[/italic] bake, for god's sake, don't make Pop-Tarts.
(2) And if you want Pop-Tarts, for the love of all that's holy, don't want lovely fresh ones. What you [bold]want[/bold] is to rip open that foil and toast your way to instant happiness. Sheez.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 4, 2021 12:17 PM |
I don't eat them anymore but Cinnamon Roll is damned delicious, just don't over toast it.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 4, 2021 12:51 PM |
Why the fuck would you eat a pop tart when toaster strudel exists? Aside from being nearly inedible pop tarts are also a fire hazard.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 4, 2021 12:56 PM |
The only ones I like are the hot fudge sundae flavor, and only for dessert on a rare occasion, not for breakfast. I briefly had Pop Tarts for breakfast as a kid and they left me hungry after a couple of hours, they are all sugar so not very filling.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 4, 2021 1:01 PM |
Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon are my all time favorite, un-toasted. They’re very dense and moist. There’s really nothing like them. I know there are people on DL who hate this flavor, and I honestly don’t understand. They’re scrumptious!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 4, 2021 1:01 PM |
Cinnamon! To me all the fruit flavors taste weak. It’s like there’s not enough filling in them. The frosted cinnamon ones seem to mix with the carb-y, stiff breading perfectly. And the frosting puts it over the top. Un-toasted of course.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 4, 2021 1:04 PM |
[quote] Why the fuck would you eat a pop tart when toaster strudel exists?
Because Toaster Strudel is gross. Chewy, greasy, gummy, mushy blech. There's a saltiness to Pop-Tarts® ([italic]and yes I always use the registered mark, out of respect[/italic]) that keeps it sophisticated. Toaster Strudels are overly sweet and infantile.

by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 4, 2021 1:15 PM |
I think having both Cherry and Strawberry in the poll is splitting that vote, since they are basically the same flavor.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 4, 2021 1:22 PM |
O! how I wish DL could show the quantity of voters and not just the percentages in a poll. I like this one.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 4, 2021 1:40 PM |
From the results it looks like right now one vote = 0.7% of the vote, meaning about 144 people have voted.

by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 4, 2021 1:50 PM |
You forgot the flavour: Diabetes. As a child I remember trying Pop Tarts for the first time and was totally disgusted by it. it had the thick and hard layer of icing on top and concentrated strawberry sugar (I won't call it jam). Never had another one again.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 4, 2021 1:51 PM |
R25 or 1440.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 4, 2021 1:51 PM |
The fruit inside a Pop Tart is a mix of Elmer's school glue and artificial flavoring. In the 1980s when I had blueberry Pop Tarts they didn't taste quite so artificial, and the filling was thicker while the frosting was thinner. They were still little rectangular sugar bombs, but maybe less so than they are today.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 4, 2021 1:54 PM |
I voted for Brown Sugar Cinnamon but I liked the Blueberry as well, as long as both flavors are unfrosted. There is something about having one of these lightly toasted with a pat of butter on them to melt slowly on top. On Saturdays, Mom would allow us the Chocolate-filled ones with the chocolate icing. Looking back, they really are diabetes in a foil-wrapped packet.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 4, 2021 2:02 PM |
and that pat of butter addresses any shortcoming in that saturated-fat food group! Good job, r30
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 4, 2021 2:08 PM |
LOL, R30. I agree. I should point out that the last time I had one, I was an active pre-teen. Not someone who sits on their ass most of the day while working, which is what I am now.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 4, 2021 2:09 PM |
R19 I Cinnamon isn't as good as strawberry, but it's my second choice (if frosted). But how can you eat a pop-tart uncooked??? That is so uncivilized! Were you raised by wolves??
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 4, 2021 2:16 PM |
The package hypes non-toasted as well as frozen. I call bullshit x 2.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 4, 2021 2:31 PM |
Brown Sugar Cinnamon is "meh" cold, but "Yes!" hot. That one would make no sense if they had an unfrosted version. However, I strongly prefer unfrosted for the regular fruit flavors, such as blueberry or cherry. Unfortunately, they only seem to do that for strawberry, the one flavor I truly dislike.
For those who assume I'm some sort of obese homo, I haven't had a Pop-Tart in a very long time, and that was only a box or two out of a sense of nostalgia rather than eating them regularly.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 4, 2021 2:37 PM |
American cuisine has for the most part always been unhealthy and gross. I remember as a child during the 1960s the stenches coming from friends' kitchens as their mothers made dinner. Fine pastries were for the most part unavailable. Pop Tarts were in many cases the best you could get. Compared to a bowlful of Sugar Smacks or Wonder Bread toast, they seemed like a decent breakfast at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 4, 2021 2:48 PM |
Cher will always be my favourite Pop-Tart.

by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 4, 2021 3:50 PM |
The problem with Pop-Tarts is not enough filling. If you made one with like three times the filling it would be good.

by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 4, 2021 3:58 PM |
The only ones I liked as a kid were the blueberry.
I remember when the frosted ones were introduced. My mom refused to buy them because "too much sugar".
The blueberry ones she could sort of at least pretend were "healthier", because they had fruit in them, right? Although who knows if they even had real blueberries in them.
(Hey, it was the 70's. People thought a steak, a buttered baked potato, and an chocolate shake was a healthy, nutritious meal.)

by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 5, 2021 12:48 PM |
R57 I had a co-worker once who came in my office eating an untoasted pop-tart. I said "What are you doing? How dare you desecrate the pop-tart with such sacrilege." He said "the toaster is broke." I looked at him and screamed: "WE HAVE A MICROWAVE!" "Now get the fuck outta here until you can act like you have some sense!" THE NERVE!
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 5, 2021 2:18 PM |
sacrilege I know, but sometimes I like the OG unfrosted option. The extra sugar blast is overkill sometimes.

R136, and it seems you have been holding that grudge ever since. Remember, revenge is a dish best served cold.

Like Pop-Tarts!

HA, R135, I'm afraid I'm one of the few who doesn't like Pop-Tarts.
I'm the one who posted about the Keto version. I was actually in the frozen section looking for ice cubes and when I saw those bars, I thought of you guys,

I’ve always eaten unfrosted Pop-tarts because I assumed one couldn’t toast the frosted ones in a normal vertical toaster. Am I wrong?

R140, you cannot melt Pop-Tart frosting with a blow torch. Go ahead and toast away!

r25 you were able to do the math before. Magic. Can you tell how many have voted now?

Cinnamon Roll Pop Tarts. Every Saturday Morning, nice and warm with coffee, while the I listen to the Back in the Day Replay of 90s music with Downtown Julie Brown.

Thank to r141, a whole new world of Pop-Tarts has opened to me. Fat whores rejoice!

WTF is in that frosting that it doesn't melt? I'm not so sure I'd want to eat anything that doesn't melt under extreme heat.

R145 I'm sure you wanna eat it... cuz it is sooooo good!
by Anonymous | reply 146 | June 14, 2021 12:35 PM |
R140 just beware that after 5 seconds in the toaster, the fruit filling rises to the same temperature as the interior of the sun.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | June 15, 2021 1:16 PM |
I think fruit fillings get hotter than BSC.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | June 15, 2021 1:17 PM |
Yes I think you're right r148. Burned my tongue on berry but not brown sugar cinnamon goodness. Another reason BSC are the best!

None of the above, stupid cunt. The answer is ALWAYS Vivian Vance.

Cinnamon is a very American thing. I'd never even tasted it until I went to America and had cinnamon toast and was in love forever.
Apparently it goes back to the pilgrims or something.

Crepes avec cannelle are a thing in France, no? Or just for American tourists?
by Anonymous | reply 152 | July 24, 2021 1:28 PM |
Those are better served heated, R136.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | July 24, 2021 2:59 PM |
Brown sugar cinammon is so nasty... but they ALL must be heated. A dry cold pop tart is disgusting!

Just go.

Brown sugar cinnamon if toasted, frosted cherry if cold. Both fab, esp with a glass of milk.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | July 31, 2021 2:57 PM |
R156 the only way I could eat BSC would be if it was frosted (and heated)
Cherry is just.. NO!
by Anonymous | reply 157 | July 31, 2021 3:01 PM |
Frosted raspberry. BSC.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | July 31, 2021 3:08 PM |
I usually just eat them cold but when I do heat them I then put butter on them
by Anonymous | reply 159 | August 1, 2021 2:13 AM |
I freaking LOVED these as a kid, more so than even Pop Tarts. Our grocery stores quit selling them decades ago, though.

Looks gross but sounds delicious. When has anything lemon flavored tasted bad?

I remember when these first came out in the early '60s. Kellogg's would send them in the mail to get people to try them. The only one I remember is strawberry, unfrosted (I don't think any were available frosted). They were horrible, and I never asked my parents to buy any when Kellogg's stopped mailing to us. IIRC, we ended up throwing them out.
My grandmother went to a bakery twice a week and brought us home crumb buns and cinnamon rolls (no, she was not a fat whore). My father would buy donuts on Sundays. So we were never pastry-deficient.
I did eat the Thomas' cornmeal toaster cakes seen in r161, though. Toasted, with just butter.

PopTarts are no substitute for real bakery goods. They are their own food category.
