What foods can you eat every single day?

Like, you never get tired of it.

For me, it's sausages. Link sausage, sausage patty, Italian sausage, Charisse, etc. I love all sausages!

Another one is dumplings. Especially if there is a dipping sauce. Pierogis, ravioli, chinese dumplings. But they have to be soft.

How about you?

Toast.

I've been eating yogurt for lunch every day since I was in my late 20s. It's not a hard-and-fast thing, I will eat other things on occasion, but it's such a habit now I can't imagine habitually eating anything else.

R26 A Ragu Bolognese does not contain chicken. Make it correctly or call it something else.

by Anonymousreply 27June 3, 2021 10:03 AM

Back home in the US it was romaine and Trader Joe's Romano Caesar dressing at night with a few slices of Armenian sausage Sujuk my late partner introduced me too. Before his stroke and high blood pressure made it hard for my dad to eat that, I would cook up an omelette with light mozzarella and topped with Sujuk the way my partner used to make when he came over. Now, in Eastern Europe, salads are kind of a once a week thing I eat at a health food place geared towards the more "sophisticated" or religious crowd once a week.

by Anonymousreply 28June 3, 2021 10:06 AM

R8 - I fully agree. I too could eat sushi each day but couldn't afford the top quality by far. I used to do spicy tuna rolls and miso soup almost every day at lunch for about a year and loved it.

by Anonymousreply 29June 3, 2021 10:09 AM

You will never eat here, R27.

by Anonymousreply 30June 3, 2021 10:13 AM

R32 - we are hoping to host our friend C from Exeter in July. He is a vegetarian and he has, like the two of us, packed on the lbs during the pandemic. He eats vegetarian alternatives to meat and his bitch of a wife lives on sausages and bacon and bread and butter and (now) pudding and beer as do all Eastern Europeans and C was simply saying when he came in 2019 that some people must be genetically wired with faster metabolisms. Certainly those of us who hail from North Western Europe pack it on if we don't watch it and work our after a certain age and, in fact, even younger men and women.

I think that many of you don't understand this thread.

It's about what foods you like so much, that you could eat it every day.

Like a fantasy, not about your regular meals.

by Anonymousreply 44June 3, 2021 3:58 PM

Fried beans.

Yet, it's not something that I would identify as a food I can eat every single day.

by Anonymousreply 51June 3, 2021 5:19 PM

Yes, r44, I eat it EVERY day for lunch

by Anonymousreply 52June 3, 2021 5:22 PM

Noodles. You just cook it differently - boiled, stir-fried, cold, etc. and serve it with different sauces, toppings, and meats, but the noodles stay constant.

by Anonymousreply 53June 3, 2021 6:01 PM

Steel-cut oats are something that I do eat almost every day. Also, coffee with sugar and half 'n' half.

Sushi I could probably eat every day as well. Has no fiber, though.

by Anonymousreply 54June 3, 2021 6:14 PM

Pizza, ice cream, cheese.

COULD, but don't.

by Anonymousreply 55June 3, 2021 6:48 PM

Cherries

Apple Pie

Ben & Jerry's Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

A NYC slice, folded, grease dripping...

by Anonymousreply 56June 3, 2021 6:58 PM

I could eat scrambled eggs and watermelon every day but I don’t. I wish I could eat a lobster roll every day.

by Anonymousreply 57June 3, 2021 7:02 PM

I ate a Shrimp Cup Noodles every work day for lunch, for about 3 years. I still love them but at my age I can't handle that much sodium anymore.

I could eat grilled cheese with ketchup on the side every day or spaghetti and meat sauce with powdered parm. A salad with ranch. Oranges. Avocado toast for breakfast.

by Anonymousreply 58June 3, 2021 7:07 PM

French bread or sushi! Bring in the carbs!!!

by Anonymousreply 59June 3, 2021 7:10 PM

Vienna sausages drenched in Cheese Whiz.

by Anonymousreply 61June 3, 2021 7:15 PM

Roti canai and mee goreng

by Anonymousreply 62June 3, 2021 7:18 PM

Boiled eggs, two for brekker every day.

by Anonymousreply 63June 3, 2021 7:28 PM

Chicken wings. Found a healthier way to make them (air fryer).

by Anonymousreply 64June 3, 2021 7:29 PM

Deviled eggs

Smoked salmon

Cheese - pretty much any kind

Chicken legs and thighs - grilled, baked, roasted, fried

Fresh fruit, but particularly cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberries and cherries

Oysters on the half shell

Pie - pretty much any kind, sweet or savory.

Potatoes - mashed, baked, whipped, cold potato salad with lots of celery and parsley

Bacon

Roasted garlic

Fresh bread and butter

Popovers

Of course, I've never tried to eat these things every day and suspect I would in fact grow tired of them eventually if I did.

by Anonymousreply 65June 3, 2021 7:38 PM

Yeah, bitch, if you'd get off your bony ass and work that glory hole like I told you to.

by Anonymousreply 69June 3, 2021 7:47 PM

Porridge with banana or berries. I don’t eat it every day, but I could.

by Anonymousreply 70June 3, 2021 7:49 PM

Do you people answering "eggs" not understand the question, or do you seriously love eggs so much that you could eat them every day and never tire of them?

by Anonymousreply 71June 3, 2021 8:22 PM

Oatmeal

by Anonymousreply 72June 3, 2021 8:26 PM

I think I could eat Chicken Tikka Masala with Basmati rice every day for dinner, if only someone would make it for me. No Indian restaurants in my town, unfortunately. I tried making it myself one time and it was a disaster (I can't cook).

by Anonymousreply 73June 3, 2021 10:01 PM

If you must eat it, check to see if they sell "simmer sauce" for it at your supermarket. It's foolproof enough that you should be able to manage.

If I recall correctly, the opening sentence of Gilda Radner's very depressing autobiography, "It's Always Something" is, "I'm the type of person who has eaten a tuna salad sandwich for lunch almost every day of my life."

It tells you a lot about a person.

by Anonymousreply 78June 3, 2021 10:51 PM

Who eats every single day?

OP, you type fat.

by Anonymousreply 79June 3, 2021 10:54 PM

I’d stick with bread and butter. Sometimes toasted, sometimes not. Fantasy? No, but if I had to choose something I had to eat every day, it’d be bread and butter.

by Anonymousreply 80June 3, 2021 11:09 PM

I don't get compulsive butter spreading.

by Anonymousreply 81June 3, 2021 11:20 PM

Lettuce and thinly sliced tomato on white toast with mayonnaise.

I’ve had it for dinner two nights in a row.

by Anonymousreply 82June 3, 2021 11:26 PM

Who’s this fat and frantic Queen who thinks that nobody except for her understands this thread and everybody else is not giving the right answers.

Guess what, sugar plum? Some people love eggs, fruits, salads, and even vegetables and they want to eat those things every day. And some posters love healthy things AND they eat those foods every day. I know, mind blowing idea, but not everybody dreams about Whoppers with Ranch dressing!

by Anonymousreply 83June 4, 2021 12:10 AM

by Anonymousreply 92June 6, 2021 10:21 PM

Asparagus omlettes with hollandaise?

by Anonymousreply 93June 6, 2021 10:22 PM

R4, when you say coffee with evaporated milk, do you mean coffee with sweetened condensed milk? Evaporated milk is just canned whole milk with half the water removed (which can be reconstituted by adding an equal amount of water), whereas sweetened condensed milk has had 60% of the water removed and some huge amount of sugar added. Sweetened condensed milk is what's added to Vietnamese iced tea or coffee, which is divine!

I have a six-pack of donuts every morning. Do donuts count as carbs? I wash them down with a giant Diet Mountain Dew.

by Anonymousreply 100June 6, 2021 11:48 PM

In the morning, two small Fiestaware size cups of coffee with Half & Half and an English muffin or half a bagel. I cannot eat a full breakfast in the morning.

I've worked from home over 5 years. I don't eat lunch unless I'm hungry. Mid-afternoon, I usually eat a yogurt and a fruit. The Noosa yogurt is delicious! Noosa tastes more like a dessert than a yogurt. The Yoplait Oui yogurt is also great.

by Anonymousreply 101June 6, 2021 11:55 PM

Pasta & meatballs, with homemade sauce.

by Anonymousreply 108June 7, 2021 8:59 PM

I like eating a BIG salad every day. This is the main meal that I eat every day actually. I do intermittent fasting and eat between certain hours of the day, right now it’s between 11am-6pm.

Big salad: 2 servings Sprouts organic baby super greens mix, 1 serving Trader Joe’s baby kale, 1 serving shredded carrots, 1 serving shredded broccoli slaw, 1 serving shredded cabbage slaw, cherry tomatoes, 1 avocado, 2 hard boiled eggs (Happy Egg Company Heritage Breed free-range), and sprinkling of chipped walnuts or shredded aged parmesan cheese. I don’t skimp on salad dressing, I either make my own or a favorite brand that’s affordable is Ken’s brand, their lite honey mustard dressing is my favorite, it’s not low fat so doesn’t have that low-fat dressing nasty taste/ flavor.
