Arthur Treacher's returns! Chubbies rejoice.
Arthur Treacher’s is coming back. Nathan’s Famous, the Coney Island-born hot dog chain, is reviving the iconic fish & chips brand as a ghost kitchen concept.
Franchises, which won’t have brick and mortar locations but instead exist on food delivery apps, will serve Arthur Treacher’s classic fried seafood and chicken menu. Nathan’s Famous plans to add a modern twist to the offerings, with “upgraded proteins, more contemporary builds and a focus on shrimp.” That means new items such as the Boom Boom Shrimp Platter, Boom Boom Fries and even Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and hand-dipped chicken sandwiches alongside favorites like the original Fish and Chips platter, Shrimp and Chips basket, hushpuppies and more. No word yet if any of it will be served in a paper box resembling a British ship.
“We are thrilled to provide operators across the country with the opportunity to add Arthur Treacher’s to their portfolio,” said Nathan’s senior vice president James Walker in a press release. “Nathan’s Famous and Arthur Treacher’s have a long-standing relationship and we have worked diligently to keep the brand’s traditional menu items while also evolving the menu to fit the Nathan’s mantra of ‘Craveable, Memorable and Instagrammable’ product that we believe both operators and customers will love.”
The announcement is a boon to nostalgic fast-food fans.

Fish and chips is one of those foods that has to be eaten straight out of the fryer to be any good. Put it in a plastic container and deliver it, it's soggy by the time it arrives even if you live on the next block.

When I was a kid, my parents loved to go there. I never really liked it. They always were telling me how he was some famous old actor. I didn't care. I still don't really know who he was!

At the Harrah's Cherokee Valley River casino in NC, they have Nathan's Famous/Arthur Treacher's in the food court. It is good and much, much better than Captain D's.

Nathan's Hot Dogs is an outspoken Trump-supporting corporation. They should be boycotted.
