Initially a bull fight is exhilerating. Many dress in folkloric drag, everybody is happy, the live orchestra begins playing fabulous music - the Pasodoble, the ladies start throwing flowers. Its all very exciting. Then the bull comes into the ring and the horror begins. Dear God, no. I don't know how Ava Gardner could stand it.

This is just awful shit that needs to go away. Imagine if they did this to other animals? They'd shut it down in 2 seconds. But somehow, because of tradition, it still goes on.

Many studies have shown that if bull fighting were put to referendum it would be outlawed. Spaniards are not attending bull fights as they once did and younger people find it disgusting. I would not be surprised to see it end soon.

The outrageous thing is that the killing of this asshole has caused controversy in Spain where freedom of speech has taken a major hit. Several were celebrating his death on SM and calling him a murderer. His family sued them and even wanted jail time for some of them. Recently Spain's major court decided that one of the women sued should pay 7k € because her comments went against this asshole's "honor".

Fuck that. The US has many problems but at least freedom of speech is still protected.
