CNN Shrugs About Chris Cuomo Giving Crisis Management To Andrew Cuomo
CNN Won’t Discipline Chris Cuomo After He Aided His Brother, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Amid Harassment Accusations With Crisis Management Council
CNN said it had no plans to discipline its top primetime anchor, despite the fact that he provided counsel during staff meetings to his brother, Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York, while he was in the midst of fending off sexual harassment accusations.

Governor Cuomo should be fined for seeking advice from a half-wit.

So as of last night, I just don't watch. He was always full of shit but I can just imagine the reaction if this was anyone else. I can stand him and Donna and their love fest anyway. CNN... it was something once. Now it's just talk radio with increasingly obnoxious talking heads.

The Cuomo brand is tarnished and lost credibility with or without CNN.

Um, they're brothers. Why is this even a scandal?

Chris gave advice as a brother, not as a CNN commentator.

Because working journalists are not supposed to give political advice. It's a conflict of interest.
Also that eight sided red sign at intersections means your vehicle should come to a full stop. But you can go again once you're sure you won't hit anybody.

Trump and Fox, et al, thumbed their collective noses at every “convention”. Glad to see the Dems doing the same. Being the good guy gets you nowhere.

Good. Now let's get back to that horde of insurrectionist-loving Nazis at Fox News who love to spread Russian and Q propaganda all fucking day long.

This is another scandal that no one cares about. CC is a commentator. Just like those blowhards on Fox who gave Trump political advice,

Truthfully, Chris Cuomo isn’t a journalist, he’s a commentatorZ. He isn’t supposed to be objective.

Bullshit. He addressed it. He was upfront about it. I thought it handled on air just fine. A non-issue.
Move on.

I wonder if the Republicans who are so pissed off about this complained when Rick Santorum made racist comments and didn't get fired for them

Hopefully some executive decision maker got Chris to lay some pipe in exchange for this shrugging of ethical shoulders.

Until it involves la familia.

Well done CNN as if you hadn't lost enough credibility over the last ten years.

Chris was not involved in the news coverage over his brothers scandal. Why can't a brother help out a brother. Really don't see the problem here.

CNN really is terrible. I have been doing a news cleanse for a month or so. If something major is happening, I'll see it on DL or my Nextdoor app will alert me. I was at the gym the other day and CNN was on in the locker room. It's is fear, fear, fear, 24/7. It's not about news, but personalities like Cuomo's views about the news.

Which brings me to the question: when did news become all about the anchor/host/personality? It’s gotten ridiculous.

Viewers are not happy with Cuomo. His ratings are really tanking.

All of the US Cable "News" stations are like that, r23. I used to watch MSNBC daily, but I started a US cable news cleanse last summer and my anxiety shot immediately down. I haven't watched in over a year. I only watch news shows from the BBC or ITV in the UK, where they have journalistic integrity laws and accountability. I don't see myself ever watching CNN, MSNBC (and definitely not FOX) ever again.
Chris Cuomo can still sit on my face any time, though.

I'm tired of his angry persona. Chris is so handsome but he loves to put on the angry journalist face. Poor baby. He's not a journalist or reporter but a gorgeous hunk of man meat. Viewers don't watch him to hear him, they watch him to jerk off.

It's wild watching American cable news, it just seems to be a bunch of talking heads either lecturing their audience or screaming at them, there's very little news.

Cuomo is insufferable and so's Chucky McCarthy who follows him. I stopped watching because he's so sanctimonious. I note he always has the same guests on - I imagine there's only so may willing to be paid to do more waiting than talking.
But another reason I found it so easy to drop it was Trump is over. I no longer feel the need to feel like someone is freaking out too so I don't need to watch.

Trump really was a ratings gold mine for most of these shows. Cuomo, Tapper or Trevor Noah with the Daily Show all lost their appeal without the daily Trump outrage. It was fascinating that all the cable news networks broadcast every single press conference with Kayleigh McEnany, endlessly complaining about the lies and propaganda afterwards, but dropped the daily pressers with Jen Psaki after only a week. They're not interested in truth or news, they just want the outrage and drama.

All cable news is unwatchable. It's true, Trump was ratings gold. Trump + Covid + all of 2020 = ratings banaza. I was glued to the TV pretty much all of 2020. Love him or not, Biden is boring and I am fine with that. I never followed any President's every move nor cared to. 5 years of pure outrage and panic to stoke the fires.
Maybe people like Roxanne Gay will finally be able to get some rest after years of pure exhaustion.

R36 I’m right with you. I think we all OD’d on it and need a break. And thankfully, we no longer have to wake up everyday worrying about what shitshow will happen next. Too bad for the news corps but oh well.
