Do women still wear Chanel No 5?

I still think it is the best perfume of all. I wish men could wear it.

I love the smell of Chanel #5. It’s almost intoxicating. It’s the only smell I have ever envied women for.

I liked “Egoiste” for men back when it launched in the 90’s and then they reissued an Egoiste Platinum- that doesn’t smell like tobacco. My favorite is Pour Monsieur when I’m not wearing Le Labo’s Santal 33.

What would be the closest male equivalent of Chanel No. 5?

Back in the early '80s, I (male) wore Le Must de Cartier. I don't recall if I knew it was for women when I bought it. Sometimes I would combine it with my usual Eau Sauvage. I got nothing but compliments.

Does anyone know the proper French pronunciation of "Must"?

No. 22 from Chanel is similar to No. 5, but I think it's nicer and leans slightly more unisex. It's a soft perfume with a little suede and incense in the base and some herbal greenness. Less heavy aldehydes like #5, but powdery and clean. I bought a small bottle of #22 and don't regret it.

Mother loved for her little boy to give her Chanel No. 5 on her birthday.

I used my 5 dollars in Extrabucks to get the knockoff version at CVS.

Not pleasant.

Got some for Christmas. It's wonderful.
