I'm watching an Arte documentary filled with archival film. Lindbergh was so charming and good looking when he first became an international celebrity. Yes we know he was a Nazi sympathizer for too long, but he somewhat redeemed himself during the WWII, as a civilian (Roosevelt refused to reinstate Lindbergh as a pilot.)

He was not only a nazi sympathizer but was most likely directly involved in the kidnapping of his baby. I watched a documentary on it some time ago where they presented a strong case that he hired men to do it as he was a eugenicist and deeply disgusted at his mentally and/or physically handicapped baby.
