And I hate it. They’re also getting mad when I tell them it looks hideous.
But I rather not have friends with such poor taste as to have a mullet anyway.

Everyone looks horrible in a mullet. It's just a universal truth.

You all are old farts with side parts

Tragic times for male hairstyles. Those mushrooms cut with perms are beyond ugly too

Are they going to bowling 🎳 alleys? Or Truck-pulls?

R4 Ok, Boomer
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 29, 2021 9:31 PM |
R3, I just turned 30. Friends in their early 30s down to about 26 are doing it.
It didn’t look good in the 80s and it didn’t look good in Alabama.

OMG -- the mullet is back?
Now I know I've lived too long.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 29, 2021 9:40 PM |
Many of my students showed up with mullets this year. I don't know what's going on.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 29, 2021 9:42 PM |
When you’re 20 everyone is attractive to a point, mullet or not. The problem is when the Eldergays will start to copy this trend.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 29, 2021 9:49 PM |
I love mullets.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 29, 2021 9:53 PM |
And the old is once again the new! Huzzah! I haven’t changed my hairstyle since the last time mullets were in fashion. It looks like I’m back in action. Watch out, boys!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 29, 2021 9:54 PM |
I’d love to see eldergays with skullets.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 29, 2021 9:54 PM |
Mullets? What is this Eastern Europe in the 2000s?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 29, 2021 9:54 PM |
I see Colombian boys on chaturbate with mullets and I’m in love 😍. I love that that look is coming back.

R15 eastern euro iron curtain Balkan / former Yugoslavia /Cyprus vibe is in
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 29, 2021 9:56 PM |
The mullet look was popular on the porn twinks from Eastern Europe in the late 2000s, early 2010s.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 29, 2021 9:57 PM |
The mullet is definitely making a comeback amongst guys in their 20s; I think you will be seeing a lot more of them this summer. It’s about the right time for a revival based on the 25-30 year cycle of how things normally go in and out of fashion and then get revived. Lots of guys have long hair from the pandemic anyway and are figuring what-the-fuck; as well as it being the perfect hipster style pendulum swing from the 30s undercut styles that have been popular for the last 6 years.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 29, 2021 9:58 PM |
I love it R17 and r19!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 29, 2021 9:58 PM |
Definitely.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 29, 2021 10:00 PM |
Oh my god I nailed it. "Blending a mullet and a Caesar cut into one fresh look, a short fringe adds drama to the top of this haircut, as well as the ends."
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 29, 2021 10:01 PM |
mullets were a big thing circa 2003-2006
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 29, 2021 10:01 PM |
R17 / R19 - those are more of a fauxhawk - which was in style about 10 years after the mullet, and less mainstream than the mullet was, but similar. Guess they’re back too.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 29, 2021 10:03 PM |
Mullets were first big from 85 - 91 or so — see Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 29, 2021 10:05 PM |
Beckham always brings back the mullet and the fauxhawk. Two of his iconic cuts.

Jane had a shag cut. NO?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 29, 2021 10:31 PM |
R42 made me say “yas kween”.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 29, 2021 10:31 PM |
The Klute shag basically is a mullet (which didn’t actually get that name until they were no longer popular). There are only so many ways to cut hair.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 29, 2021 10:34 PM |
R42 is why I love the DL.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 29, 2021 10:34 PM |
Hmmm. Let's go to the experts:
1. What are the main technical differences between a shag and a mullet?
Disconnection
According to Rachel Williams (@rachelwstylist), a mullet is essentially two different haircuts. “The mullet is disconnected completely from the ear to the back, whereas the shag is connected to the back. One of the main differences between a shag and a mullet is the amount of hair that is left or removed on the top of the head and around the face,” says Rachel.

I think R42 is the new “sure, Jan” instead it’s “yas kween”.

David Beckham is the only one who looks good with a mullet. The rest look like skinny lesbians.

Whenever I see young guys these days on social media (by accident, as you do), they always have something like this guy's haircut. Short on the sides and wild on top.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | May 3, 2021 7:42 PM |
Very common for the lads here in NZ. They’re gross.
