WHET Sara Rue?

Always liked her.

I did too. I just figured she'd at least segue into mom roles on light dramedies.

She is a semi-regular on the sitcom B-Positive, playing Thomas Middleditch's ex-wife and completely wasting her talent. She's thin now and looks great.

She actually starred in her own sitcom, the four season 81 episode "Less Than Perfect" featuring Zachary Levi , Sherri Shephard, and Eric Roberts. But she has been supporting ever since. Never got that.

The speech impediment has probably held her back.

I can't believe Less Than Perfect was that long ago. Loved it, and the cast, and not sure I've ever seen it in syndication.

Ryan Murphy abandoned her. Discarded her like yesterday's leftovers.

Now it should be but in those days the magic number to get to syndication was 100. Now shows syndicate after one or two seasons.

I first (and last) saw her in Less Than Perfect and thought she was going to be a breakout star. Maybe she's not interested in being a "star."

She had a recurring role on American Housewife as one of the bitchy rich women. She's also been in a few Hallmark movies.

That poster for "Less than perfect" is hilariously cheesy. It looks like the poster for Valerie Cherish's first sitcom, "I'm It!"

Less Than Perfect was a perfect fit for her. I really liked the show.

Another person who was great in it was Andrea Parker in a role completely different than she played in THE PRETENDER.

I wish all of LTP was on DVD or streaming. Only Season 1 is available.

Zachary Levi was a hot, furry snack in that.

She lost weight and makes Hallmark movies. Lacey Chabert makes a bunch of Hallmark movies, too.

She deserves her own ABC show.

She was also good on the “Eastwick” tv show, but she wasn’t one of the three witches. I liked that show, but it was cancelled quickly. I liked her on “Grand” as well.

I loved Less than Perfect. I remember seeing her on an episode of Trading Spaces where she spazzed a bit because they painted the walls in one of her rooms grey. She came off as a bit whiny, though I now realize she was young then. I’d love to see if any of her walls, now, are grey.

Honestly, I think she got less funny the more weight she lost. I loved her on LTP, but she was one of the weak links in Reba's one season sitcom Malibu Country.

Yeah, Malibu Country was Sara Rue's fault.

Sara Rue and Sarah Drew fused into one person for me, wasn’t really following either, but had no distinction between them. Then Cruel Summer started and I looked up to see when Sara lost the weight and discovered two different people.

She will always be Gypsy from Gypsy 83 to me.

(Which was maybe the first or second gay movie I saw.)

She and Kett Turton were great in that, R46.

I also enjoyed her as the teen version of Roseanne in one of the Halloween specials.

Gypsy 83 deserves to be as forgotten as it is.

Like Jennifer Grey's nosejob, Sara Rue's weight loss robbed her of what made her stand out. Great as the quirky, chubby girl; just kind of forgettable as the skinny leading lady.

I moved from the midwest to LA in 2003 and got a job my 2nd day there filling seats for sitcoms and clapping on camera. I would love to get booked on Less Than Perfect because watching that cast work was magical! I would request to work that show, and I would get to a lot because they couldn't fill the audience with tourists. I started to notice that Sara was losing weight each week, maybe from the stress of the ratings? Not sure, but it was really fun to watch that show tape live. It was also probably the worst job I ever had. Luckily I only had to work for that company for about 6 months or so until I found a better job.

Why was it the worst if you enjoyed watching the show? The other shows were torture?

R44 I didn't say she was the reason the show failed, but she was one of the weak parts of that uneven show. SR and the kids were the worst parts, if the show had been more focused on Reba, her mom, and the gay assistant, it would've lasted longer.

Not really. The gay assistant was embarrassing and written from the mid-70s. The show was a steaming pile of shit.

Funny part is, it was the highest-rated new show on TV that season but ABC cancelled it for some reason

The other mostly TV sitcom actress who hasn’t gotten a big hit show is Judy Greer. Someone should come up with a best friends sitcom starring them both. Maybe together they’d be a hit.

Speaking of Less Than Perfect, it is too bad Andrea Parker largely disappeared after that, Loved her on both that show and the Pretender. I liked Zach Levy as well. He went from that to Chuck which was a 180 and seemed to stay in the lovable nerd persona for future roles. Did he ever play the arrogant snob again?
