Why is that back in the day when Sylvester was gender-bending and playing in & out of drag, I got the impression that he was simply being authentic and embracing his femininity? It felt SO NATURAL coming from Sly and I feel proud when I see him!

But when Billy Porter does it I'm disgusted by (what looks like to me) his insincerity and a DESPERATE need to make a fool/spectacle of himself?

Loved the tuxedo dress, but seems like it was just a happy accident. I'm almost impressed with how constantly terrible his outfits have been since then.

R31 makes a good point. I am so tired of these "entertainers" and their various stunts. If you're a singer, sing. If you're an actor, act. These publicity stunts are so obvious and annoying--whether it is men wearing dresses or women showing their naked bodies. I understand why so many people are tuning out from award shows. They're sick of these tired celebrity antics.
