For a long time he was in the spotlight with hit after hit, his biggest being "Right Here Waiting" which went to #1 for 3 weeks and earned him a platinum record. Now he seems to have disappeared from view and I never hear anything about him or from him. What happened to him?
He's still right here. Waiting.

^^ LOL Actually, he lives just north of Lake Forest on the waterfront. I would love to see how his modified mullet has aged.

You must not be on Twitter...
Plus he's still releasing material and performing live (well, before the pandemic, anyway). Married to Daisy Fuentes and making deplorables' heads explode on a daily basis.

Between Right Here Waiting. The Best Of Me and Dance With My Father he will be minted.
He duetted with Twiggy (Twiggy!!!!) on Right Here Waiting 10 years ago. It's not a great version, truth be told.

Cute in his younger years. And still looks good.

I think he was more of a songwriter than singer and wrote hits for other people.

Hazard was his biggest hit in the UK.
There was talk of a tv series of a film made about Mary and her murder but nothing materialised. Thankfully.

Loved this one from his last album. Great AOR tune.

Today. Very thin, almost gaunt, but still good looking. He must exercise a great deal and have some sort of peculiar diet.

Heard him on Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast a while back. He seems grounded and a lot of fun.

Looks good for my age (27)

is he of the Jewish?

He's a good Twitter follow; funny, very progressive-minded, and gives zero fucks about losing fans who think he should "shut up and sing". Also, when he divorced his first wife, he didn't go the typical "young trophy wife" route (Daisy Fuentes was 50 when they got married).

Saw him in real life. His head is humongous. He looks like a gumball machine.

Ha, I just watched Anastasia on Saturday which has his duet with Donna Lewis and was wondering the same thing. GMTA, OP!

R18 Oh my heck, do you people ever think of anything besides politics? It’s soooo boring.

easily my favorite song of his is "now and forever".... perfect wedding song or perfect self introspective melancholy song to one's self...

His Twitter feed is a constant joy. He doesn't suffer fools at all, much less gladly.

i remember back in the day, the chippendales during their "man in a uniform" (usually is it air force white uniform?) number would use his song "right there waiting" ... both in their stage shows and when they appeared on a episode of GERALDO....

He moved into songwriting. Barbra Streisand and Luther Vandross had huge hits with his songs.

R27 no, because I don’t think of everything in terms of politics like 90% of DLers. It’s so boring.

[quote]He moved into songwriting
He didn't move on to writing. He's always written for others and played/sang on many records even before his own solo career: "Crazy" with Kenny Rogers early 80s, Vixen's "Edge of a Broken Heart," Streisand, Vandross (as mentioned), constant collaborations with Fee Waybill, etc. See the link for a lot of the albums he's been involved in. Also, he's still releasing his own stuff.
