I changed the channel when Megyn Kelly came on. I turned back because I wanted to see the panel discussion but I wanted to slap Bill and say "Really? You're going to listen to a person who thinks blackface is a-okay and gripes that 'Santa Claus is white' talk about anything concerning racism?" Give me a fucking break.

Listening to Megyn Kelly and Bill Maher....I don't hate myself that much.

Why you feel compelled to transcribe her every thought on that asshole's show is beyond me

I remember liking Real Time with Bill Maher when I first discovered it - in 2007. I haven't been able to stick it for a number of years now, though. The tone of it has changed, Bill is just a cranky old man now.

I had same impression of the Megyn / Bill interview. All I kept thinking was that they were bantering about woke-ism and the alleged actions of the school (when it was actually the parents as R3 reminds us), only within their interpretation of the proper context for the situations they were talking about.

In our quest to be more understanding and inclusive toward people of all races, genders, and orientations, are there going to be occasional errors and misfires? Of course. Not that I'm making a blanket justification for that to happen, but when it does, what we should be concerned about is whether there is any malice involved in it. When there is, we need to respond accordingly, own it, and apologize for it.

And speaking of context, I think we all need to know a bit more about Bill's solar permit application that he's been bitching about for weeks now as taking 1000+ days and counting. I'm not accepting just on his word from his bully pulpit that there's nothing non-standard about his application, and I wouldn't put it past him one bit to be a turd in his own punch bowl just to have a bit to complain about.

One thing that always bugged me about conservatives and their rants about victim culture is that they don't hold themselves to their own standards. No one plays the victim as loudly as American conservatives. As for Maher, he loves right wing cunts.

I've watched his show for years but last night I couldn't finish it. Megan Kelly is an opportunist of the highest order. I watched this episode this afternoon, and had very little regard for it, particularly after Megyn Kelly made the false equivalency, comparing "Russiagate" (which she seems to attribute solely to Rachel Maddow) to loony lies of the far right. This was neither more nor less than I expected of Kelly, but Maher failed to challenge her on that point - the Trump Administration's collusion with Russia has never been disproven, the way the right seems to think it has. Rachel's reportage was sound.

You guys also need to understand that Megyn Kelly wants to get back on TV and has amped up her crazy to try rebuild her brand. Whatever hold NBC has on her contractually is probably almost up.
