James Farentino’s ex wife was Debrah Farentino. recently I rewatched Season I of NYPD BLUE - Barry Newman played a dying millionaire and he hired David Caruso to keep an eye on his sexy young wife - Debrah Farentino. David Caruso’s “Det Kelly” dumped Farentino for Amy Brenneman’s dirty cop “Janice Licalsi” ..... Deborah Adair looks a lot like Farentino

Susan Blanchard was most notably recognized for being the face for No Nonsense Pantyhose. Her husband even made an appearance in one of the commercials. Charles Frank was a soap opera "Ken Doll" type actor.

He and his real life wife actress Alexandra Lee also played the married leads in the supernatural thriller. Several days before his 47th birthday, he suffered a heart attack. He died on his birthday. The film was dedicated to him.
His wife has had no IMDB credits since his death.

Allyn Ann McLerie was in quite a few famous Broadway shows including being the original Amy (as in "Once in Love with Amy") opposite Ray Bolger in "Where's Charley". Plus, perhaps her most famous film role is the 2nd female lead after Doris Day in "Calamity Jane". I remember she was in some tv show -- was it opposite Tony Randall later on? playing kind of a zinger-flinging type of middle-aged lady. Fine singer-dancer-actress.

I was watching an old B-movie on TCM called Big Leaguer with Edward G Robinson as a baseball manager. There was a scene in the rookies dorm with the young prospects about to turn in. One of them was actor Richard Jaeckel sprawled out on his cot shirtless, I almost spontaneously came. Probably mostly forgotten today, Jaeckel was an excellent actor, who was nominated for an Oscar for his great death scene in a Paul Newman flick. But mostly I remember him for being wholesomely hot.

Do you guys remember the Michael Korda novel “Queenie?” It was loosely based on Merle Oberon. It was about a beautiful light skinned Indian girl who had to flee India to England (I don’t remember why - did she steal something or was she raped?) - her dark skinned drunken uncle came to England with her and got drunk and raped her - then she killed the uncle. she became movie star “Dawn Avalon” and passed as white. Mia Sara was in the mini-series - I don’t remember anyone else ...
by Anonymous | reply 123 | March 7, 2021 2:41 AM |
Michael Korda was Oberon's nephew. The book was alleged to be based on family gossip.
