The Shawshank Redemption

Discussed on here before but I rewatched it again last night. Whenever I'm flipping channels and I find it on I watch it. I don't know why this movie is so rewatchable no matter how many times I see it.

It’s a great movie with a beautiful ending. I love to watch it too OP

Also a very good novella from Stephen King. I didn't realise til recently Tim Robbins wasn't even Oscar nominated and that Morgan snagged the lead nomination

You're right, OP, me, too. That and [italic]Dolores Claiborne[/italic] are two films that always trap me when surfing.

I've always wanted to tour the Ohio Penitentiary. I imagine it would be rather unsettling

I think I read here once that it's basically a love story between two men and I totally see that now. I remember reading the novella but I can't really remember it that well. I've often thought I need to re-read some of his early stuff.

Dolores Claiborne is great too and another I read when I was very young and I think I might have missed a lot of the sexual abuse of the daughter by her father at the time and I wondered why she appeared to avoid her mother so much. After seeing the movie years later it made much more sense to me.

It is on my favourites list and i probably watch once a year or so. I think it is the display of an authenticly kindhearted and brave man standing up for his morals and winning in the end. Something about his quiet intelligence and cunning planning is mesmerizing to me.
