Does this mean Adele is screwed?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 30, 2021 12:08 AM |
Fat loss doesn't do this. It's fat gain that stretches the skin.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 30, 2021 12:18 AM |
Uh, r4, no shit. Fat helps wrinkles. This is why people get injected with fillers. The minute the weight is gone filling in the creases, out comes all the wrinkles. You never see wrinkles on a balloon.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 30, 2021 12:28 AM |
The skin is meant to retract when the fat has gone, hence stretchmarks.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 30, 2021 12:28 AM |
Dawn was thin in the photo above. In fact, she was thinner there than the one below.

This is true. Weight loss makes some people look worse. I remember hearing a fact about Tom Cruise in Risky Business. He was mid 20s or something and playing a high school kid in the 80s. They made him gain a bunch of weight and then cut slightly so his face would have fat on it. Fat on face makes you more youthful. Long distance runners and bikers look the most haggard. Not attractive in my opinion.

Fat is back!

I may be 74, but due to a recent diet, I can only pass for 28.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 30, 2021 12:38 AM |
Yes, some fat in the face can fill out your face (naturally) and make you look younger. It's a trade off. Zsa Zsa Gabor was the master of this.

Anyone remember that toned sex worker at CorbinFisher called Connor: he always had a fat face (not fat otherwise tho)?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 30, 2021 1:07 AM |
This is only if you lose weight the unhealthy way.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 30, 2021 6:05 AM |
WTF was the point in Soames losing weight and not investing in a nosehair trimmer?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 30, 2021 6:31 AM |
Fat can also make someone look matronly (and the male equivalent). The 20 year old who murdered the tatooed 60 year old is an example of this. The 20 year old could have passed for much older. He looked sloppy.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 30, 2021 6:41 AM |
Fat smooths out the wrinkles. Everybody has known that for years.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 30, 2021 6:45 AM |
The skin is fairly elastic. If you intend to lose weight, you do it slowly to give skin the chance to adjust. Fast weight lose emphasizes wrinkles and makes for stretch marks.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 30, 2021 6:49 AM |
That's why I've doubted the claims that Adele got the lap band surgery. She lost weight over many years.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 30, 2021 6:54 AM |
R18 - disagree. You can lose 100 pounds over 2 years and you'll still have skin sag. Moreso if you're over 30 and it is worse as you age.
You can lessen it somewhat by losing more gradually - but it's still going to be there.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 30, 2021 6:54 AM |
I'd rather look older than not only deal with the perception of being fat (contrary to what they would have you believe, and as far as this country is, it isn't really accepted outside of hefty models on social media).
It's hard to lug around extra weight. Wear and tear on joints. Wear and tear on mattresses. Self loathing when you have an awareness of your gut while rolling over in bed, or sitting in a chair, feeling as if you look like a small elephant. It is hard to find clothes that fit properly. If you do find them, then it isn't exactly the sort of thing you want to wear. And if you do find something that fits properly and you actually want to wear, it still won't look good because you're fat. You spend about a third of your mental free time thinking about being fat, a third thinking about dieting, and a third thinking about what to eat.
It's just not worth it.
You can fix your face, but being fat is about so much more.

I think men who look a little older but have athletic bodies and eat well ultimately are hotter than fatties with a few less lines on their faces.

And that would be...
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 30, 2021 7:55 AM |
Too fast, r23.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 30, 2021 8:00 AM |
Laxatives.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 30, 2021 8:15 AM |
True. I'm on a diet. I've only lost 22 lbs so far and my neck already looks a bit "stringy". I know there will be surgery in my future. I don't mind a few extra face wrinkles, but I hate turkey neck.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 30, 2021 9:25 AM |
It is because when you are fat, the fat will build up in your face, especially around the cheek. So your face skin is being stretched. When you lose weight, the fat is gone and leave the loose skin that is pulled down by gravity. Many fat people looked 5 years older when they lose a bunch of weight.
People like Adele and Jonah Hill ended up looking worse after weight loss. What a shame.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 30, 2021 9:31 AM |
A good surgeon can take care of the face, r26, but turkey neck is forever.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 30, 2021 9:31 AM |
Duh! Haven’t I told you it’s your ass or your face?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 30, 2021 10:22 AM |
Not true, R28. I've seen tons of good before/after photos of neck lifts.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 30, 2021 3:18 PM |
You look better slimmer! Nothing ages you more than being fat. Slim face over fat face anyday!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 30, 2021 5:24 PM |
Being thin is better for your health. Too bad about the wrinkles.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 30, 2021 6:53 PM |
Wrinkles do not automatically make someone unattractive. A fat gut, however....
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 30, 2021 7:58 PM |
It’s also the silly grins that make the after pix in OP look worse. Dawn’s slightly English teeth and Cowell’s overly done American teeth don’t help.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 30, 2021 8:07 PM |
Cowell was never attractive in any event.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 31, 2021 12:34 AM |
Thin is infinitely more attractive. I look at myself in the mirror when I'm thin and I'm perfectly content, but I always think I look awful when I'm fat and, pretty soon, my shoulders move into a permanent shrug and I look even less attractive. I always feel better and lighter the thinner I am. It's easier to move around, you don't get as winded, and you have more energy. Being fat usually makes me sluggish and depressive.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 31, 2021 1:17 AM |
You can never be too rich or too thin. Remember that !
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 31, 2021 1:21 AM |
It’s better to never have gained it in the first place. But it’s always good to lose that visceral fat. That stuff depletes your life force.
Then again, it’s all a crapshoot. You can get hit by a car or something.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 31, 2021 1:32 AM |
Some people were fat kids and never lost the fat. Some live very long lives. It's genetic.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 31, 2021 1:37 AM |
I recently lost 30 pounds and rediscovered the joy of feeling and looking good again. You can wear a sack when your slim and look and feel good. You can wear a $1000 suit when your fat and feel like a blob.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 31, 2021 3:55 PM |
Its a combination of losing weight and being older.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 31, 2021 4:01 PM |
They used pictures of Renee Zellwegger from 2003 and 2019 side by side to prove their thesis that weight loss makes you look older. Brilliant.
