Fuck. That.

by Anonymousreply 6January 29, 2021 10:12 PM

What a clever idea, in a cold city, building skyscrapers that look like ice sculptures.

by Anonymousreply 7January 29, 2021 10:13 PM

They should have held the winter games there instead of Beijing.

by Anonymousreply 8January 29, 2021 10:14 PM

Too cold, R8.

[quote]Does it really look like this?

Only in January and February.

by Anonymousreply 16January 30, 2021 12:12 AM

It's quite a large city for such a cold place.

Is it the coldest city on Earth?

by Anonymousreply 17January 30, 2021 12:16 AM

All the fucking misinformation on this post already.

OP, every year Harbin has their ice festival with ice sculptures all over the city. It last for two months.

R3 It is near Russia and at one time was home to many Russians including White russians who lost the civil war and Jews.

R11 No, that is Sichuan.

by Anonymousreply 18January 30, 2021 12:22 AM

So R18, are there a lot of white people in Harbin?

by Anonymousreply 19January 30, 2021 12:23 AM

If you want to learn standard Mandarin, apparently Harbin is the best place to do it.

[quote] including White Russians who lost the civil war and Jews.

Did they lose the Jews in the Siberian desert?

Carrie Fisher loved Harbin. It was on her bucket list.

by Anonymousreply 22January 31, 2021 2:14 PM

God, it's further north than Vladivostok.

No way.
