I've been independent all my life, refusing to register with a party because I don't believe in voting for 'my team' as if it's a spectator sport. I'm liberal and always end up voting for Democrats. After the past four years, I decided I am going to finally choose the Democrats because the only alternative is a party that has embraced actual Nazis, and if that is the other team, then I definitely do have a team affiliation. I hate the sports-minded approach, but I can't deny that I am diametrically opposed to everything the Republican party stands for.

But then this shit. This inevitable circular firing squad, self-cannibalism, call it what you will, it's really disconcerting to me. Compromise is possible. Settling disputes privately and supporting one another publicly is possible. But Democrats in the public eye seem to get off on tearing down Democrats they disagree with as much as Republicans get off on tearing down all Democrats. It makes me feel a little nauseated to think about. Most Democratic spokespeople are highly educated and objectively intelligent, but too many are strategically moronic. They just always do this shit.

Biden has been president for one single week and they are condemning him based on what he has not yet accomplished, and based on tragic failures he has inherited, as if he is winding down his first term. I find it grotesque.

R23 Ugh. That was the very worst. She didn't fall for it so much, either, as fake it. MSNBC teased all day that she had his taxes. Then her show came on and she did her usual blabbering and breadcrumb-trail following for 40 minutes before bringing the dude on and then she qualified the info and then she admitted it was only a two-page summary that revealed nothing. That stunt was a stunt, full stop, and it killed a lot of faith I had invested into MSNBC and respect I had for Maddow.

Then, last year, I turned her on to see Melania's former friend trash her. It was petty gossip and I couldn't wait, I admit. Maddow was supposed to interview the woman. I turned on the show and Maddow spent literally 40 minutes again blabbering on and reading pages from the woman's book instead of interviewing her. She finally let the woman talk and couldn't have asked her more than five questions.

I used to like Rachel Maddow but she's too much of a blowhard who likes her own voice and I just can't bear her.

I read where these immigrants are coming from Central American countries and more likely to vote Republican in the future. We saw in November that a lot of Latinos voted for Trump, and most of them were from Cuba and Central America. I think Democrats are waking up to that fact and are far less interested in this story.

I like Rachel's framing of a story, it reveals what is a crazy theory an what is some precedent. She as subjects that she is good at, like defense/war and healthcare. She is a good interviewer with folks she agrees with such as Warren, Klobuchar, and Sherrod Brown and advocates. Her interview with AOC was a bore. She is terrible the few times she has ever spoken with a Republican. If they realized this maybe they would now cower from doing her show. It's pathetic that elected Dems have to do FOX primetime, but no elected Repubs ever appear on MSNBC primetime.
