Why didn’t she fight more to get a cut of the Simpsons?
Tracey Ullman

She sued and lost. What else should she have done?

She was a stupid bitch

Her late husband was a British TV producer, and rumor has it they had a combined net worth upwards of $150 million, so she'll probably just have to scrape by on that, the poor dear.

r5 Sure, but it could have been 500 million
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 21, 2021 3:08 AM |
R6
I think the point that R5 was implying is that nobody needs 500 million dollars.
And a lot of people would consider hoarding that kind of wealth to be unethical.
Maybe she realized that she didn't actually need that money.

Tracey is richer than god. She's the richest British actress and female comedienne. She sued and it was settled out of court. She gets a check every year. In that sense she didn't lose. Had Tracey not done the show there wouldn't have been a platform for The Simpsons. She actually made fun of the fact that she sued saying that there was nothing more American than suing and how crazy she was for even thinking she'd get a dime out of Rupert Murdoch. There were no hard feelings either. James L. Brooks still cast her in his film and The Simpsons had her as a guest actor. Tracey actually tried to talk the BBC into buying The Simpsons and they told her that she had no idea what she wasn't talking about. When the BBC aired The Tracey Ullman Show, they cut The Simpsons out saying no one wanted to see them. And BTW, she wasn't the only person who sued from The Tracey Ullman Show. There were others.
At any rate, Dan Castellenta (who owes his career to Tracey), Julie Kavner, James L. Brooks, and many of the writers that started out on her show and went over to The Simpsons are still her BFFs.

Tracey said not too long ago that Julie is a recluse.

Tracey just played the Queen making fun of Harry and Megan Markle in "Death to 2020".

She didn’t actually do anything. It was a show that stated on her show but she had no control or say in it. Not sure why she deservers a cut.

I liked that at one point she joked that The Tracey Ullman Show would end up as a few minute segments interspersed throughout the Simpsons.
