I just watched this tonight on Blu-Ray (the Twilight Time edition). I really enjoy this movie. A great soundtrack, everyone is gorgeous and I love the carefree vibe of the film. Gallagher was very sexy in this. Valérie Quennessen was very striking and her tragic death a few years after this movie adds to her mystique.

Interestingly on the special features, there are a few screen tests, and Patrick Swayze tested for Gallagher's role. There are some lingering shots of Swayze in a tiny bathing suit getting out of, presumably, Randal Kleiser's pool. There's also a test of him and Valerie together doing the scene after Michael and Lina have had sex. Swayze is fine but Gallagher was the right choice. Patrick and Valerie had zero chemistry.

I love "Summer Lovers" especially when Barbara Rush and Carole Cook go to visit Rush's daughter, Daryl Hannah, in Santorini and try walking around the cobblestone steps and ruins of Greece in high heels, and Carole Cook asks, "When are they going to finish Greece?"

Peter Gallagher was a hunk. Valerie Quennessen was simply gorgeous. Great music. One of the best summer movies ever.
