Prince George Depicted As A Foul-Mouthed Brat In HBO Max’s Animated Show ‘The Prince’

A DL must-watch!!!

--

Prince George is, reportedly, depicted as a foul-mouthed brat in HBO Max’s upcoming eight-part animated series, The Prince. This week, a teaser for the new UK TV show was released. And the clip features an animated version of Prince George whining about the coronavirus pandemic.

Prince George also seemingly brags about living in a house with 775 rooms while other kids are residing in small apartments. At one point, the animated version of Prince George also curses and complains about the cooking of his staff.

The teaser is cringetastic; more lazy writing from the folks that brought you "Family Guy". George is basically Stewie Griffith with younger siblings.

I don't know, that looks pretty fucking funny to me. But then I'm easily amused.

by Anonymousreply 2December 31, 2020 12:15 AM

You know he's just counting the days before he can replace that candy cane with a Virginia Slim and cunt at the servants all the livelong day.

The show’s based off the Instagram persona Gary Janetti, a Family Guy writer, has applied to George. But as noted above, he’s basically Stewie from Family Guy.

by Anonymousreply 4December 31, 2020 12:28 AM

I dunno. This gimmick was cute a year ago on Instagram, but now seems tired.

by Anonymousreply 5December 31, 2020 12:29 AM

Janetti created the sitcom VICIOUS starring Sirs Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi. It managed to get a titter out of me every 3rd episode.

by Anonymousreply 6December 31, 2020 12:31 AM

The accent is atrocious.

by Anonymousreply 7December 31, 2020 12:32 AM

Delayed due to Philip's timely passing. They should just cancel it altogether. Not out of respect, just because it looks awful and unfunny.

by Anonymousreply 10May 9, 2021 8:31 PM

Racists! Oh, wait, making fun of the children of royals only becomes racist when you're 3% black. Can you imagine if they did this with Archie? Or, the future Veronica or Jughead Markle?

by Anonymousreply 11May 9, 2021 8:54 PM

This is really tasteless and inappropriate. He's a child FFS.

by Anonymousreply 12May 9, 2021 8:55 PM

MARY, R12!!!

by Anonymousreply 13May 9, 2021 8:59 PM

Sorry r13 but it just seems wrong.

by Anonymousreply 14May 9, 2021 9:00 PM

It used to be an unspoken rule that you didn't pick on the minor children of politicians.

by Anonymousreply 15May 9, 2021 9:00 PM

"The Royals" is amusing, primarily because of the woman playing Camilla. One foul-mouthed satire of the BRF is sufficient, thanks.

by Anonymousreply 16May 9, 2021 9:01 PM

Yep, he's Stewie grown-up, well, partly

by Anonymousreply 18May 9, 2021 9:02 PM

It's not my rule, R15.

by Anonymousreply 19May 9, 2021 9:02 PM

I know I'm being a Mary, but I honestly think that the line is young children.

Whether you're Angelina Jolie's kid, Beyonce's kid, or Prince George, children should be off limits at least until they're 15-ish, unless they put themselves into the spotlight by starting a career in as a celebrity.

by Anonymousreply 20May 9, 2021 9:03 PM

Some don't share your very grand morals, R20. Best to accept that.

by Anonymousreply 21May 9, 2021 9:04 PM

God, you're tedious
Some don't share your very grand morals, [R20]. Best to accept that.

He's a child, you asshole. It's tasteless and kind of creepy.

by Anonymousreply 24May 9, 2021 9:11 PM

It's not a matter of accepting morals, r21. You either have morals or you don't.

by Anonymousreply 25May 9, 2021 9:11 PM

Is Kate portrayed as s cunt?

by Anonymousreply 26May 9, 2021 9:13 PM

R24/R25=tedious cunting moralist.

by Anonymousreply 27May 9, 2021 9:13 PM

R27 = amoral

by Anonymousreply 28May 9, 2021 9:15 PM

I'll take that any day over a tedious cunting moralist.

by Anonymousreply 29May 9, 2021 9:17 PM

I wish Archie had been born an albino. That would throw a wrench in the works.

by Anonymousreply 30May 9, 2021 9:22 PM

Spanner.

by Anonymousreply 31May 9, 2021 9:23 PM

The Windsors was funny because of the writing and talents of the actors. This guy has never once made me laugh, and I agree with the others who think that putting words into the mouth of a famous child is creepy. His IG was always off-putting and the joke went on for too long. Same as when that person who did a Suri Cruise character when she was a kid.

by Anonymousreply 32May 9, 2021 9:24 PM

It's unseemly and tacky. And it looks like this is just Stewie from Family Guy anyway.

by Anonymousreply 33May 9, 2021 9:25 PM

And they are camping him up, a seven year old. Tacky and obnoxious.

by Anonymousreply 34May 9, 2021 9:31 PM

And that person in California whose mother thought he would be but is not and never will be a prince.

by Anonymousreply 35May 9, 2021 9:39 PM

I hope they make fun of Camilla.

by Anonymousreply 36May 9, 2021 10:52 PM

It's wrong to exploit a child. And, in this case, with his prominence, it's awful.

by Anonymousreply 37May 9, 2021 11:17 PM
Are there any boundaries left?

Yes!

by Anonymousreply 38May 9, 2021 11:19 PM

In that cartoon at R8, Meghan is the only one that they haven't made a real caricature of. Let me guess, she'll be off limits for jokes.

by Anonymousreply 39May 9, 2021 11:47 PM

by Anonymousreply 41May 9, 2021 11:57 PM

R39 that's because she doesn't have odd features like Kate's razor sharp cheekbones or the inbreeding looks most of the other royals have. The queen, the kids, and Harry look like cartoon versions of themselves.

Wills looks like a ghoul because he is one.

by Anonymousreply 42May 10, 2021 12:02 AM

Given MeGAIN's propensity to sue, they're playing it safe.

by Anonymousreply 43May 10, 2021 12:04 AM

I never thought Janetti's Instagram was that funny. The only reason he got it made into a series was because of connections, not quality. They must be desperate for new content.

by Anonymousreply 44May 10, 2021 12:04 AM

R43 she wouldn't sue over a parody. She sued over the Mail on Sunday publishing her personal records, which was illegal and is why she won.

Obviously if she was sue-happy she'd go after all the obsessive trolls who pen wild fantastic tales slandering her every move and utterance with conspiracy theories, misogyny, anti-Americanism, and racism.

by Anonymousreply 45May 10, 2021 12:06 AM

Gary's instagram was all about the little George character making vicious fun of Meghan, mostly her fashion sense. He got tons of likes, had Lisa Rinna replying "Gary!" to every post, and that Scotty guy going "LOLOLOL." Then one day Gary posted a black square, took a long break, and then never mentioned Meghan again. What happened, Gary?

by Anonymousreply 46May 10, 2021 3:17 AM

BLM happened (you didn't know that's why everyone was posting a black square?) and around that time the tenor about Meghan had changed from disdain to active insane murderous hatred so he probably wisely thought he should back off.

by Anonymousreply 47May 10, 2021 4:57 AM

R47 of course I know about the black square, dummy. Gary put his finger to the wind, and did indeed back off, not for any noble reason as you suggest.

by Anonymousreply 48May 10, 2021 5:06 AM

The Meghan haters have opened the door wide to this. Their leering bigotry has brought the BRF into the gutter and that’s where it will stay.

Soon we’ll have animated porn of sex in the RF.

by Anonymousreply 49May 10, 2021 5:21 AM

It isn't bigotry, for the millionth time.

by Anonymousreply 50May 10, 2021 5:24 AM
R20 I honestly think that the line is young children.

Yeah. Especially talking about how dark their skin color will be before they’re even born, and how acceptable or not that skin color will be.

by Anonymousreply 51May 10, 2021 5:30 AM

Get fucked r51. That wasn't what was actually said, and it has nothing to do with this topic anyway. Go take your righteous anger someplace else.

by Anonymousreply 52May 10, 2021 5:36 AM

For people who claim to hate her, you really can't stop talking about her. Why is that?

by Anonymousreply 53May 10, 2021 5:38 AM

Why do so many DLers think Prince George is gay?

by Anonymousreply 54May 10, 2021 5:45 AM

Everything about this seems a bit sick because these are real children. If you want to say they can afford to be made fun of because they're so well off and doing so much better than everyone else, how do you know?

Nice surroundings don't completely innoculate you from sad, miserable, lonely feelings. They're real people.

Why do we do this anymore? Royalty has outlived it's usefulness. They're patriotic celebrity birth to death celebrity representatives at this point.

by Anonymousreply 55May 10, 2021 5:46 AM

This reminds me of Spitting Image.

by Anonymousreply 57May 10, 2021 6:00 AM

I wish George had a proper British accent which, if they are going to do this stupid project, would make his caustic remarks even more biting. I hate the terrible voice actors. I'm hoping this will be an animated Windsors.

by Anonymousreply 58May 10, 2021 8:57 AM

I'm sure there will be a few laughs but it's definitely got a dry well aura about it.

by Anonymousreply 59May 10, 2021 9:17 AM

R54 Gary Janetti has said he thought George had a very expressive face and gestures, and that lent itself to making George gay in his Instagrams. Given that Janetti brought us “Vicious,” an endless stream of gay stereotypes (which was made bearable only by the brilliant actors), I suppose it’s not surprising.

by Anonymousreply 60May 10, 2021 9:30 AM

^ If that doesn't work perhaps they can just pray the Gay away

by Anonymousreply 63May 10, 2021 10:40 AM

He'll need a mentor to keep him on the straight and narrow.

by Anonymousreply 64May 10, 2021 10:43 AM

It's really creepy that a grown man is obsessed with a child

And Prince George's classmates will make fun of him for this. He'll have enough problems growing up, without this show

It's a big fucking mistake to do this. It's going to go wrong somewhere. And a real child is involved. The whole world will hate this guy. And he'll deserve all of it

by Anonymousreply 65May 10, 2021 11:05 AM

The "whole world" doesn't give two shits about this kid or his family, just you British Fraus

by Anonymousreply 66May 10, 2021 11:08 AM

R65 it's cute how you think the BRF is just a normal family with normal problems and poor insulated, privileged wealthy George is somehow going to be traumatized with a six episode series on a pay cable network in the US.

I'm sure that is the most powerful memory he will look at when he's 35, anorexic, and smoking cocaine-laced cigarettes in a Swiss chalet while having his third hooker of the night take a dump on his chest. "If only HBO hadn't used a caricature of me in that series!"

by Anonymousreply 67May 10, 2021 11:41 AM

R48 sure, it is much more logical that Meghan, through Sunshine Sachs (which hasn't worked for them except once ages ago) is somehow a mafioso-level doyenne who controls what random people put on their Instagram feeds, but can't control the British press at all and in fact moved countries to get away from the constant daily intrusions. You're right, she's a mad genius and Janetti was clearly told to back off by The Powers That Be, led by Meghan, who is now the all-powerful Queen of the US.

That's much more logical!

by Anonymousreply 68May 10, 2021 11:46 AM

I know a palace insider, and everything he's said seems to indicate there's quite a bit of truth in this cartoon. The young prince is a royal bitch already, and a big queen, too.

r78 your whataboutism is ridiculous and you know it.

by Anonymousreply 79May 10, 2021 5:35 PM

Kate has done an exemplary job in her role. She didn't bolt after a few months and whine about eveything.

by Anonymousreply 80May 10, 2021 5:36 PM

Well they got you there. Kate plotted and schemed and allowed herself to be made a fool of to get herself a future king. If you want to talk about grifters, there is no worse grifter than a grifter, like Kate, who allowed herself to be humiliated the way Will humiliated her. And if DL had active archives, I would link to the threads where all of you who are defending her now, were trashing the fuck out of her 10-15 years ago. And the way you would still be trashing her, if Megan were full on white.

by Anonymousreply 84May 10, 2021 5:50 PM

r84 Kate knew the score, she knew what life in the Royal Family would entail and she has always acted accordingly. She knew that it wasn't a star-making role and a stepping stone to cheap fame and celebrity.

by Anonymousreply 85May 10, 2021 7:11 PM

r84 Meghan treated entry into the Royal Family as a star-making performance. She was sorely mistaken. The BRF isn't Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 86May 10, 2021 7:11 PM

R85 so you're saying she studied the family and was fully aware of the sacrifices she would be making to attract, date, stick around for ten years while he sowed his royal oats, then marry the cad Wills anyway because she wanted to do it for England? No self interest there!

by Anonymousreply 87May 10, 2021 7:24 PM

r87 please quite while you're ahead.

by Anonymousreply 88May 10, 2021 7:30 PM

The show was probably partially "inspired" by that Showtime cartoon show about TRump.

by Anonymousreply 89May 10, 2021 9:59 PM

r88 I agree, you're making yourself look ridiculous!

by Anonymousreply 90May 11, 2021 12:48 AM
Meghan treated entry into the Royal Family as a star-making performance. She was sorely mistaken. The BRF isn't Hollywood.

That’s bullshit and you know it. She came in the same as others, and the drama only started when she could no longer endure the fire hose of diarrhea pointed at her from people just like you, and the ignorant nativist press, which Kate was not subjected to because she’s white, upper middle, and English.

by Anonymousreply 93May 11, 2021 1:18 AM

It would've been funnier if the show was meant to satire the royal family in a "wink wink, nudge nudge" kind of way, without the characters actually being real life people.

Like having the main character be a fictional child prince and throwing in a mention about his grandmother being assassinated in a car crash or something. Turning a real-life child into a crude cartoon is not just icky and low, it's lazy. This shit is going to bomb.

Heaven forbid you should be uncomfortable. Perhaps it's those scratchy wool knickers you wear
Again, Americans confusing the Monarchy with common celebrity.

No, the Cambridge's are celebs. They're the ones who have gone Hollywood

They hired a professional crew to create this slick video. It actually puts the big Hollywood studios to shame

It's along the lines of the most upscale perfume commercials seen in Europe

This video proves it was William who asked about the baby's skin color

What do meghan and harry have to do with any of this? Nothing

You fools who even mention them in this thread are deranged. You are all as creepy as the guy behind this show about Prince George

This is tasteless. I'd say the same if it was any other kid, regardless of it being about Archie, Honey booboo, or any other celebrity offspring. Children shouldn't be targeted by media. It reminds me of that Autistic environmental girl having a porn drawing of her basically being raped that was made when she was underaged. It's too far.

by Anonymousreply 151May 12, 2021 2:05 PM

Meghan is behind this. She resents the attention Prince Whorge gets, so she used Harry's media contacts in the UK and got them to produce this show.

What’s the average age of the posters on this thread?75?

I’m glad that deference to these inbred parasites has declined.

by Anonymousreply 153May 12, 2021 2:54 PM

Clearly you aren't familiar with history, r150.

by Anonymousreply 154May 12, 2021 2:59 PM

I see nothing wrong with a show proving what a terrible mother Kate is.

by Anonymousreply 155May 12, 2021 3:02 PM

R151 yes, this lighthearted show about a bitchy Royal child is exactly the same as brutal drawings of a precocious tween being raped.

by Anonymousreply 156May 12, 2021 4:22 PM

R152 you're totally right. She's so powerful in Hollywood she can get entire series made just to slightly sully her Royal family's reputation, but also so weak and helpless she can't do anything about the UK press making up stories about her or the Palace leaking false stories about her to keep stories about bad behavior by Wills from being published. It all makes sense now.

Yes, if not older. It's a Klan Granny thread.

Episodes were posted yesterday.

It's nowhere near as funny as The Windsors, but the episldes are short and mildly amusing. Prince George is actually the least funny character...and unfortunately, Gary Janetti's friends like Kelly Ripa and Lisa Rinna make appearances (ugh, there's even an Andy Cohen reference).

The characters are portrayed as:

QE2: Foul-mouthed bitch

Prince Charles: Buffoon with mommy issues

Camilla: Mute and target of QE2's acid tongue

Prince Philip: Old and belligerent

Kate: Unhappy bitch who drinks and hates her husband (and Meghan)

Prince William: Awkward buffoon who hates his wife

Princess Charlotte: Mysterious odd-man-out

Prince Louis: Mean odd-man-out

Meghan: Sweet, struggling actress...very Californian

Prince Harry: Out of touch idiot

Ugh, Gary Janetti's IG posts with Prince George were a highlight of the early days of the pandemic. However, the show sucks. It also exclusively features gay men in a stereotypically frivilous light.

Verdict: LAME!
It's disgusting American has people who can't take pressure represent them.

Interesting perspective, R125. 3 words: Duke of Sussex

by Anonymousreply 161July 30, 2021 5:26 PM

Of course they have to make Meghan a positive or the show would be pulled as racist.

by Anonymousreply 162July 30, 2021 5:27 PM
The show’s based off the Instagram persona Gary Janetti, a Family Guy writer, has applied to George.

No, it is based [bold]ON[/bold] the Instagram persona Gary Janetti, a Family Guy writer, has applied to George.

by Anonymousreply 163July 30, 2021 5:37 PM

R162 not the case. She looks as white as them. Please stop.

by Anonymousreply 164July 30, 2021 5:42 PM

Gary stopped teasing Meghan on Instagram last summer. It’s obvious why.

by Anonymousreply 165July 30, 2021 5:50 PM

R164, even though I personally like Meghan, I do feel like the show goes out of its way to portray her in a positve light. I attribute it to the recent heavy-handed attempts by Hollywood to be "woke" or whatever.

In Janetti's IG characterization, Meghan was portrayed as trashy, scheming, and ALWAYS drawing George's ire. In the show they barely interact and his putdowns are rather benign.

by Anonymousreply 166July 30, 2021 5:51 PM

Because Meghan has been mistreated and people see it.

by Anonymousreply 167July 30, 2021 5:52 PM

R167 Maybe, but that's not why

by Anonymousreply 168July 30, 2021 5:56 PM

The lack of traction in this thread says a lot. I've watched 8 episodes and have only had a few genuine laughs.

At least the opening credits are pleasant.

by Anonymousreply 171July 31, 2021 12:33 AM

It’s not funny but is entertaining.

Weird the episodes are 13 minutes.

by Anonymousreply 172July 31, 2021 12:38 AM

I like Family Guy, but this seems kind of tasteless - it would have been better if it was about the adults.

by Anonymousreply 173July 31, 2021 12:39 AM

I liked it but it wasn’t very funny.
