Tasteful Friends Kat Von D buys 'haunted' mansion in southern Indiana
She did not mince words over the reasons for the move.
“Definitely not ever selling our beautiful home in LA, but with all that has been taking place in California, with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so many more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where there is nature, where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day,” she said in an Instagram post Thursday. The post has garnered nearly 218,000 likes.
The home was listed for more than $1.8 million.
She has been outspoken over California’s policies during the COVID-19 pandemic as “tyrannical” and has used the #recallgavinnewsom hashtag in reference to the California governor.

Almost $2 million in Indiana?? Yeah, hope you love it Kat. Indiana is the armpit of the country (even Arkansas has the northwest corner which is beautiful with bearable weather). She sounds like an idiot, so she deserves to now own an unsellable, pathetic house in the most pathetic state in the union.

Uneducated trash.

Oh - and if she spent over a million, let alone 1.8 million, to live in a run-down Victorian on the Kentucky border, next to nothing - then GOOD. A fool is easily parted with their money.

It looks destined to be a bed and breakfast. Years ago, I knew someone who had lived in the town---named for a place in Switzerland, it's set in rolling hills near the Ohio River. Pretty but it's in Indiana, you know exactly when you cross the state line.

In Vevay you can literally look across the Ohio River to Kentucky. You'll see broken-down trailers and people fishing....fishing to have something to eat that day.

This home has some interesting and significant history tied to a prominent family that once lived in the area.
It makes me sad that this house needs a good restoration and Knowing Kat, it will get gutted of all its remaining historical elements that make it what it is. Expect blown out walls and painted woodwork at the minimum.
I have no problem with edgy and modern, but why do this to a beautiful historical site if you can build a dream spaceship somewhere better?
Then again, I’m just speculating. She could be interested in preservation and surprise us.

Makeup is not the same thing over and over. There’s differences in pigmentation, for example. A high end brand should be more pigmented and have longer staying power. Just like if you were a first year art student, you would use student grade paints and brushes , whereas a pro would be painting with high grade paints and brushes.
The shareholders of Kat’s company basically forced her out because they were losing sales due to her racism. And she was once rather pretty, but completely fucked up her face with cosmetic procedures in her 20’s.

Definitely going to fit in nowheresville Indiana as an immigrant Mexican/Argentinian know-it-all high school drop out (that part might fit in, not the rest). She supposedly wants to concentrate on her music and tour with her new album's nonexistent hits.
They're going to love being in a small town where the sidewalks are rolled up at dusk, nothing open on Sunday, hospitals, clinics, specialists of any kind way over in Cincinnati.
Supposedly, she back-tracked about vaccinations, saying she opened her big mouth too soon, and spoke from a place of ignorance. That fits.

Her makeup line was with Kendo, LVMH's product-development group which supplies Sephora. They built up enough of a presence with KVD, Fenty, Marc Jacobs, etc. that LMVH thought it was time to expand to other retail outlets.
She had been considered a liability for a long time but until they decided to branch out beyond Sephora (Debenhams in the UK, too, but I guess they never raised a fuss?) it was an LVMH family feud.
They couldn't afford to be associated with her when it was time to go into other retail outlets. Her last scandal at LVMH was the anti-vax thing but as far as they were concerned, she was history at that point. Why she wasn't history with "Selektion" is the question.

I looked up “Kat Von D racist” and found that:
1. She was accused of writing an antisemitic letter to a boss who fired her (I didn’t read the letter). That is troubling if true.
2. She dated a guy who used the N word (the context wasn’t included - was it “ni66er” the slur, or the typical wigger “ni66a,” which is more of a rap music reference?) and was “rumored” to be a Nazi. What was the basis of this? The band, New Order flirted with Nazi imagery but aren’t themselves Nazis, as far as I know. Context is important. Also, this was her boyfriend, not Von d herself.
3. She accused another make up artist of being racist and publicly ended her association and friendship with him. That doesn’t make her racist.
4. She was accused of not having a diverse enough “team”. How many people does she have on her team? That makes a difference. Is her “team” all just her friends? Again, doesn’t make her racist, but may indicate all her friends are white women, or whatever.
Anyway, I’m not particularly interested in her, but I was intrigued that several (or maybe the same person) on this thread kept referring to her as “racist” but wouldn’t elaborate. The charge of “racist” has been so weaponized. Not sure it’s going to carry much weight in the future if it continues to be overused and watered down....pick your battles wisely.
