Poseidon Adventure STARTS NOW!

On TCM.

"Damn you, preacher!!!"

Why in the hell does TCM always show the good movies late at night?

by Anonymousreply 1December 27, 2020 5:48 AM

Because their core audience are mostly Alice Faye enthusiasts who eat dinner at 5:30 and are in bed by 9:45.

by Anonymousreply 2December 27, 2020 5:51 AM

Wouldn't this be better on NYE?

This film never gets old for me. So well done. Excellent script. Excellent acting. Excellent special effects. Excellent score. Suspenseful and you really have no idea if they will survive. Hackman at his best. People may joke about Winters, but she was terrific in this film.

One of my absolute favourite films of all time.

Was she a Succubus?

I love Mrs. Rogo.

I want to be her friend.

by Anonymousreply 9December 27, 2020 6:07 AM

For a while there they were showing it every New Year's Eve. Was a nice tradition. They stopped it for some reason and started airing That's Entertainment.

Sm,art people simply record it and watch the next day. After all there's got to be a morning after.

In the water I'm a skinny lady.

by Anonymousreply 19December 28, 2020 4:16 AM

a VERY skinny lady

by Anonymousreply 20December 28, 2020 4:18 AM

How old is Susan supposed to be?

Isn't it odd that a 17 year old I'm guessing would take her younger brother on a holiday cruise.

To quote Linda Rogo (Why we didn't fly I'll never know.)

by Anonymousreply 21December 28, 2020 4:19 AM

I wish they'd have cut the line where Stella Stevens says she's going next in case old fat ass gets stuck she doesn't get left on the other side. That was out of character for the film's Linda Rogo. In the book she is awful and you are happy when she dies.

In the movie she is nice and caring towards the others except for that line. It must have been a holdover from the book. Stevens has said that she read the book and was a bit horrified at the character but they assured her she would be much nicer in the film.

calm down, OP...there's got to be a morning after.
