I love it too. Edward Scissorhands is another great choice, as is The Nightmare Before Christmas.

My favorite non-traditional Christmas move? "Brazil" by Terry Gilliam. It takes place during the holiday season; all the craziness contrasts nicely with the pieties of the season.
