I know some of you bitches secretly like that mess.
I really do not understand why it was created. Were the writers and producers on drugs? And the cast, why would they agree to this? It’s AWFUL

It's almost as bad as the prequels.

I actually appreciate the prequels

I like the original trilogy and I am enjoying The Mandalorian. The Holiday Special is an abomination. Nobody secretly likes it. The actors didn’t even like being in it but found themselves contractually obligated. Carrie was probably coked out the whole time and Mark Hamill looked high on pain meds from his car accident. Not to mention the makeup. He looks like one of those thirsty twinks who does makeup tutorials on YouTube.

It was created because variety musical shows were hot back then and George Lucas wanted to keep Star Wars on people’s minds while EMPIRE STRIKES BACK was in production.
This was explained to you in the Bruce Vilanch interviews.

The Holiday Special is much beloved by SW fans with a sense of humor!
Which makes up at least 1% of the fandom!

Let us not forget that Miss Bea is part of the Star Wars canon, (since Chewbacca’s family is, I assume she must also).

'The Holiday Special' is atrocious, but without it we wouldn't have Boba Fett.

It’s one of the worst judgement calls in show biz history, but I get a huge kick out of it! I truly adore the Star Wars franchise and I am capable of taking it seriously. But i have an irreverent sense of humor, too. This television special is an absolute hoot.... intentionally and intentionally
I also loved Adam Driver doing Kyle Ren as “Undercover Boss on SNL, because it is shocking and delightful to see a character that is so angsty and evil in the franchise, become so comical a comedy situation. Those SNL sketches, like the Star Wars Holiday Special, are beyond absurd. And I am here for all of it.
