TV characters who should have been Jewish but weren't

I never understood THE ODD COUPLE, where both Felix and Oscar were two plausibly Jewish, middle-aged New Yorkers. Actors Tony Randall and Jack Klugman were both Jewish IRL.

Felix Unger is a plausibly Jewish name. Oscar Madison much less so. With the exception of Penny Marshall as Myrna the secretary, no one on the show, including ex-wives and children, seemed very Jewish.

Whatever. That thing ran for 5 seasons.

And likewise, Garry Marshall writes all his characters as if they were Italian-Americans from Milwaukee.

Real life characters Garry Marshall and Penny Marshall should have been Jewish, BTW, but actually were not.

Valerie Harper: not Jewish in real life.
